Looking For My Mad Hatter
I am surrounded by the Queen’s artificial army, I want to infiltrate and destroy But I’d rather watch them self destruct, Ya’ know, let them get what they deserve. Well, I am locking that damn door and swallowing the key My new mantra of ignorance is healing the wounds they left on me. Ignore them I will, But left alone I won’t. My Mad Hatter I will find. Once thought to be dead Or nonexistent Or cursed The chase wages on for better or worse. I thrive to find the one who will awaken what is lost inside. I want to dance under the stars, not in gowns but in stride. I want to scream under bridges, not with fear but with pride. The love I have for myself is enough, A soul I need, A soul that will set me free A soul that will let me be. To breathe life into me, For love is not enough. I think so often of this soul and who they might be, But over thinking you see is much like a plague to me It feeds ambition And gives me hope But so often this hope of mine goes rogue. False hope has blinded me from what my eyes can’t see. The assumptions I make, mostly big mistakes. I’ll be damned if this fool's gold takes me down. So the war wages on I am taking no chances, Running after no crowns Not until my Mad Hatter is finally found.
