tell me if i'm crazy, but maybe we can create our own viral website! no one really knows for sure what the new movie is about right? maybe we could have like scouts or something bring in new info as it unfolds! and piece by peice we can put toghether the info that we gather or something.I jumped on the train a little too late for the first one. and i want to have something to do with TF2 other than wait for the team to create another website. and thats even if they do make another one.maybe we can spread around new rumors or something that only we will know if they are real or not. and we could have passwords like S7.org or something! im just spitballin' here but we could. just let me know if you are in on this! and who knows, we might even get approached by someone having to do with the movie! maybe it's just me, but it sounds like loads of fun!! risingdragon11, methusalen, im talkin to you guys. you were the heart and soul of StopS7. now are you in? anyone is welcome to do this thing with me, just let me know if you are in on this one. you guys, what do you say........
ARE YOU WITH ME?

tiezane: 08/18/2008 9:43 AM The basic premise of a viral marketing campaign (like Stop Sector Seven was) is to promote interest in something, in this case an upcoming movie. It's to give the people who want to get involved a little something extra to go into the movie with. Think of it as a reward for being more interested than the average Joe.
Now, if someone *NOT* involved with the movie (be it production, marketing, etc) were to start their own web site and "maybe we can spread around new rumors or something that only we will know if they are real or not" - well, that's just stupid. Why spread mis-information about the movie? The only thing you would do is engender anger and mistrust in the future, once people realized that you were intentionally posting misleading info.
The truth is, your best bet is just to hang tight. A movie of this caliber is going to have something attached to it, if you just give it time. I know that's what I and many others here are doing.
There are already several good sites out there collecting info on the movie. There is a high potential for spoilers, so be forewarned.
http://transformerslive.blogspot.com and http://www.seibertron.com/ just to name a couple.

methusalen: 08/19/2008 10:05 PM I will respectfully decline, stating the same reasons that Tiezane mentioned already. A good viral marketing campaign draws in users with puzzles, real-life interaction, and releases tidbits about the upcoming release (like SS7 for Transformers, "Why So Serious" & "Vote Harvey Dent" for The Dark Knight, "I Love Bees" for Halo 2, etc)... They are run by either the movie's production team, or else a marketing company hired by the filmmakers to drum up interest in the upcoming feature film...
We were then used by THOSE people to 'spread the truth' (ie- stuff Agent X revealed to us through the podcast, the website (and S7 passwords hidden in the movie trailers, comic book prequel, etc). I know I spent a heck of a lot of time throwing out those 'news' stories to Seibertron.com or TFW2005.com to drum up more interest in the movie, whether it was "possible Starscream voice actor speaks out!", or "Sector 7 Mobile Command Center to tour the US!!!". -Heck, I even got in touch with a Paramount representative just to find out future dates/locations for the Sector 7 appearances...
But, I'd check out the transformerslive.blogspot.com site (mind you, I don't believe it's by any means official), or some of the major Transformers fansites (seibertron.com, TFW2005.com, Unicron.com, etc) to keep up-to-date on new information regarding the movie... In regards to actual activity on this site (and the Sector 7 site), it's been quiet in here since 7-3-07, and I don't think that'll change any time soon. Now, it's possible they're going to start something up before the second movie hits the theaters, but only time will tell at this point... We might see something, or we might not...
