Well, with the new movie in production, I know many of you have been waiting to see if the Sector Seven ARG/viral marketing campaign would see a continuation to promote Revenge of the Fallen.
Yesterday I asked Roberto Orci, one of the Transformers screenwriters whether or not there would be any more to the Sector Seven stuff for this sequel and he responded:
"I doubt it. We'd like to try something new."
So, coming from one of the guys on the inside, it sounds like there will be no more Sector Seven business going on (which makes sense, since S7 was disbanded at the end of the first movie).
HOWEVER!
The second sentence implies that there could be another ARG/viral marketing campaign related to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
In this case, I can assure you that I'll keep everyone up to date on that new ARG, and probably create a new forum on this website dedicated to the same type of community cooperation that was a big part of the Stop Sector Seven ARG.
So, while we may have seen the last of Sector Seven, keep your eyes open for something brand new that could be heading our way.
Agent X's "stay vigilant" advice will continue to be of service!

methusalen: 07/06/2008 9:42 PM As RD11 said already, it appears that the StopSectorSeven community here has run its course. It's been a pleasure working with everyone here and elsewhere who have helped add to our cause prior to the release of "Operation: Hungry Dragon 2" :D
I'd like to thank risingdragon11 again, it's been a blast working with him moderating the community here on Buzznet! I'd love to work with him again anytime he needs some assistance with anything Transformers related!
Also, if Agent X and/or Sciencehottie35 are still around, I'd like to thank him/her/them again for the opportunity to contribute to something I love (the Transformers). I love the fact that I can look back and say that I had something to do with the '07 movie, even if all I did was help admin a message board attached to a Viral Marketing Campaign. Thank you for putting your faith in Risingdragon11 & I again!

brotherhalo: 07/07/2008 3:56 PM Just had to add my thanks to both RD11 and methusalen. You guys did an outstanding job here and it was a pleasure to be part of the SS7 campaign.
You can bet I'll be here for the next one.
BH out.

shadowwing: 07/07/2008 6:15 PM Viral marketi...you mean none of this was real? I had all those sleepless nights wondering if my clock radio was going to transform and kill me for nothing?
Just kidding. This was fun. Can't wait to see what the next one has in store. It was nice being able to be part (albeit minor) of my favorite part of childhood, which still is part of my life and interests (just not as much with various "adult" things like work and stuff). Hope the next game is as interesting.

tiezane: 07/08/2008 7:27 AM NOOOO! Say it isn't so! Well, I guess the good side is, that means we did our jobs successfully. Whether that is a good thing in the grand scheme of things remains to be seen.
Glad I could do my part to help out. It's been fun.
Still, I would have liked to have learned more about Agent X and Dr. Howard. They seem to have just disappeared. It would have been cool if they could come back somehow for the second movie.
I look forward to working with (almost) all of you again on the next one. (I think we can all agree that there are some people we wish would stay away for good.....)

072674930: 07/09/2008 6:13 PM What are you trying to say methusalen?
|
 |
tiezane: 07/10/2008 5:48 PM I think what Methusalen and I were both saying is that while it's been fun working with the majority of you, there were some (at least one) snot nosed little punks that only wanted to annoy the piss out of people and were generally idiotic in their dealings here.
And we can do without that kind of thing when we're all just trying to have fun.
|
 |
risingdragon11: 07/10/2008 8:33 PM Well, some people do have different ideas of "fun" than others. While it did get annoying after a while, I thought it was fun deciphering some of the coded messages from people pretending to be Transformers and whatnot. There were some instances, though, when things got carried a little too far...
|
 |
tiezane: 07/11/2008 7:59 AM That was my point exactly, RD. Those who were truly trying to be a part of this whole thing and keep it interesting I have no problems with. It's the people that went overboard, or acted like idiots spamming the boards with stupid shit (like X2/3/4 tended to do) that took some of the fun out of it for me.
