Early this spring, my mom was sewing my prom dress. One night I noticed my 6 month old kitten, Dory, not acting herself. She wasn't eating, when she was usually stealing food off of my plate, and she wasn't running around playing, she was just walking around or sleeping. The next afternoon, we took her to the vet to see what was wrong. It turned out she had swallowed some extra thread that my mom had left out on the table. She had 2 different surgeries, because they couldn't get the thread out during the first one. The vets ended up having to cut her open to removed the thread. She ended up getting her belly shaved and 18 staples to keep her stomach closed. A couple days later she came home. Even though she was durgged up and couldn't walk straight, it was nice having her back. And it was easy to see she had learned her lesson as she never ate anything off of the ground again, she only ate off of her plate.
Even though it was so wrong of her to eat it and need a very costly surgery, in the end she learned a very valuable lesson, and got a battle scar that no other cat has.
