Song of Summer

"Squeaky swings and tall grass The longest shadows ever cast The water's warm and children swim And we frolicked about in our summer skin"

I chose this song as the song of my summer because the first verse is what everyone wants their summer to feel like. Walking through town in the summer heat, flowers blooming and children running around being as carefree as possible, not a worry in their mind.

I've always been a kid at heart, even though I'm only 19, so this song definitely reminds me of the times as a child where I too, was carefree and didn't have to worry about things such as: whether or not your favorite band was going to be playing within a decent distance of your house so the parental unit would let us go, what our new "look" for the school year was going to be, whether or not we would fit in, and even going back to school in general, which is college for me now, where I pay my own tuition and books :| ouch? yes, ouch on my bank account!

I really find the meaning of the song to be the title. "Summer skin", everyone has their summer skin. Whether or not you chose to make this skin thick and enjoy summer while it lasts, or if you have a thin summer skin because of the inability to enjoy summer for any reason, our summer skin is what keeps us fresh and careless in a sense, during the summer. When fall comes, we shed our summer skin, but the memories still remain. Memories of love, friends and the good times of sweet summertime!
