Anne Leibovitz, "Just another paparazzo"? A Hannah Montana inspired college class?

Billy Ray Cyrus claims Ann Leibovitz is "Just another paparazzo" since she took this picture of Miley for Vanity Fair.
In regards to Ann Leibovitz he said, I quote, "I was catching these crawdads and all the sudden this paprazzi lady jumps out ... and starts snapping away,".
-He can't be serious! Ann Leibovitz is "just another paparazzo"!? Oh please! She is probably the world's most famous photographer for potraits. I don't think any member of the paparazzi has the credentials that could even start to compare to her shadow!
  • 1970-1983 she worked for Rolling Stones magazine
  • She was the concert-tour photographer fro the Rolling Stones' Tour in 1975
  • Since 1983, she's worked as a featured portrait photographer for Vanity Fair
  • She was the last person to professionally photograph John Lennon
  • In the 1980's she photographed celebs for an international campaign American Express credid cards.
  • 1991 she held an exhibit at the National Portrait Gallery
  • A major retrospective of her work was held at the Brooklyn Museum (Oct 2006-Jan 2007), which was based on her book. "Anne Leibovitz: A Photographer's life, 1990-2005".
  • 2007, Anne was asked by Queen Elizabeth II to take the queen's offical picture for her state visit to Virginia.
  • 2007, the Walt Disney Company hired her to do a series of photographs with celebs in different roles/scenes for Walt Disney World's "Year Of A Million Dreams" campaign.
  • 2008, she had taken the controversial picture of Miley Cyrus.
That's just a very breif summary of the work done by Anne Leibovitz, thanks to Wikipedia. ( I didn't want to get anything wrong, or mix something up.)

Everytime I start thinking about this situation, I always seem to get really worked up. They're turned such an innocent photoshoot into something dramatic. She wasn't even really topless in the first place.
If they're so worried about 'children' seeing these kind of pictures, then it's much too late. The pictures Miley took of herself are much worse, and with possible intentions other then being 'artistic'.
If parent's had been so worried over a bare back what are they going to do next, petition for a ban against bathing suits?

This is old news, I shouldn't be spending too much time talking about that.

Anyway.

Apparently at the University of Florida, there's going to be a call called...
Get ready for this...
From Innocence to Hannah Montana: Childhood through the Visual Arts

The class will be using great works of art, slide shows, various other visual aids, and works of art from the Harn Musueam collection. The five class sessions will be focused around the ideas that through history children have been seen as; smaller members of the workforce, innocent beings full of fun and play, victims of voilence, and as people who's sexual nature is only just starting to exist.

Couldn't they have picked a better title? Something like 'From Innocence to Adulthood: A Transition through Visual Arts'?

I better stop here, or else I'm going to start ranting and get terribly off topic.

I think Billy Ray sees a camera and thinks "Papparazzi!".
I think the Cyrus' "covering up" on the scandal is in bad taste. Miley blamed Anne for persuading her to pose, and Billy Ray is calling her a papparazzo. Mmhmm...

Because Billy Ray Cyrus is going to such lengths to "cover up" or "protect" Miley from some potential bad press...but by doing so, he's causing more drama then there would've been originally.

This whole situation makes me kind of...angry.
