My Story in SkittlesFirst, I would like to say that this is all true.
I originally went out to LA in the fall to become a filmmaker as there is no place in Indiana that supports such a major. I was really excited and couldn't believe my dream was actually happening. But then I got some very unexpected news when my dad and sister actually flew out to LA to tell me that my mom had been diagnosed with leukemia 11 years after being in remission from a brain tumor. To get technical, she has what is called Acute Myeloid Leukemia which is very difficult to beat. She needed to get a bone marrow transplant in order to be fully healed and the transplant entailed a lot of complications. So, I put my dream of becoming a filmmaker on hold and went home. She is starting to get back to normal, but as you can see in the video, the leukemia has taking its toll. However, I now feel as if one day she will be completely fine and I will be able to go back to school (If I have enough money). Oh and she is laughing in the video, in fact she was making fun of me. So I would like to say thank you to all of my friends on Buzznet. Because you have given me friends whereas when I came home all of my old ones were off at college. This is a very personal video, but I think it says a lot about love and about making the right choices. So please do not make fun of it because it is not a joke. It is my life. Thank you to all who buzz the video. I hope you enjoyed it and I hope that it gives you some inspiration to do the right things in life. -Kayla P.S. all materials used were made by yours truly. P.P.S. Don't be afraid to comment, I'm pretty open about it and everything hence me making light of the situation in the video. |
