Nerd News: Lady Gaga Inspires a New Fern's Name??
You read that correctly! A new species of fern has been named after Lady Gaga.
This new fern is made of several other species of fern and it's found in South and Central America, Mexica, and even in Arizona and Texas!
One of the reasons it got it's name is because it has the DNA sequence GAGA - guanine, adenine, guanine, adenine. The scientists also believe that its "bisexual reproductive stage" resembles Gaga's Armani Prive costume and the way new leaves extend is like putting its paws up.

While most of the fern species has already been discovered, two entirely new ones got the Gaga inspired name. Gaga germanotta from Costa Rica, which takes Gaga’s maiden name, and Gaga monstraparva, which is a nod to her fans, the “Little Monsters”.
What do you guys think about that? Is that going a little overboard on the Gaga wagon? Or is it totally reasonable and she deserves it? I honestly think it's pretty cool! A little silly, yes, but I'm for it.
