QOTD - What's Your Fantasy?

Gabriel's Gonna Rollerblade: 11/03/2009 10:04 AM
I probably should've said "What's your favorite fantasy movie?" instead so that I didn't sound like a creep. Then again, that would be betraying my very sense of being.

When I was a boy (I used to live in corduroy), Labyrinth was probably one one of my most watched VHS tapes. I blame much of desire to wear tight pants and balance crystal orbs on my tiny hands on David Bowie. Yes, David Bowie was in this very Escher-esque movie.

Also, I wanted to hang out with Ludo (he's the giant thing with horns) all day and have him call rocks.

That being said, what is your fave fantasy movie?

While Labyrinth is one of my favorites, I'm going with Time Bandits on this one. It's a Handmade film about a group of "international criminals" played by little people, who steal The Supreme Beings's map to the time holes in the universe. They jump from hole to hole, robbing everyone from Napoleon to King Agamemnon while they hunt for Time of Legends, where the greatest object in all the world is located.
What they don't realize is that Evil is after them the entire time, luring them into his trap. It's an amazing film. I always wanted to be Kevin.
Oh, and did mention that Sean Connery is in it?

I love Labyrinth but I also love The Lord of the Rings trilogy and Harry Potter movies. Oh and I used to love The Never Ending Story.

I always wished that I imitate that one scene in The Princess Bride where the old guy would say: "Inconceivable!"

That's, like, the best fantasy movie ever!

Labyrinth. The Dark Crystal. Lord of the Rings. Harry Potter.
I was more of a fantasy books type of kid. I loved The Two Princesses of Bamarre and Ella Enchanted (the book, NOT the movie) and things like that.

I am going to have to say Harry Potter. I love the story line, and the back story to Harry and his life. Its a wonderful fantasy story to just loose yourself in while reading or watching the movies.
