Even though the music industry still seems to be dominated by men, let's celebrate and enjoy female musicians! Who is your favorite? They can be solo, a singer/songwriter, the singer of a band, or even just the musician in the band.
Why are they your favorite? Do you think it's been harder for them as a female to find success? (If they aren't OMG BIGGEST BAND IN THE WORLD, do you think they'll find difficulty in the future?)

Another female musicians that I admire :
Fiona Apple ( Tidal is one the best album ever ! )
Tori Amos , one of my fave songwriters ever and her piano skills are just wow .
Gwen Stefani , especially the ska Gwen that I love so much
and ... please don't kill me , this is my own opinion , Courtney Love is pretty badass also . I don't like to talk about Courtney Love as person but Courtney Love , the musician is/was fucking great ! Hole ruled so much !
and i think it's all . :)

also amy lee has a pretty amazing voice.

Hole's one of those bands that people like, they just don't talk about liking. Unless you're me and you think "Awful" is a fan-fucking-tastic song. |

Hayley Williams. I have the most fun singing along to Paramore and watching her rock out on stage makes me want to BE her. Hallelujah is my absolute favorite song and her voice is so flipping amazing in that song.
and
I think Demi Lovato is a good singer *runs for cover*
I only get a tad freaked out when she opens her mouth super wide. But seriously, when I saw her she was pretty cute on stage. And it was hilarious when she ate it in that one video of her tour.

Hail And Farewell: 10/09/2008 1:04 PM Umm right now I'd have to say Amy Lee, Hayley Williams, Pat Bentar (she's just amazing), Cassandra Ford, Alanis Morrissette, Lita Ford, Rachael Sage :) I think they're all amzing ladies with amazing voices :) I don't think it's harder for them as women to find success because half of them on my list are already huge singers and are in amazing bands. And if it was hard for them to find success, then the music industry is sexist then...
