QOTD: Does everything happen for a reason?

Suggested many moons ago by TryingToFindTheWords.

Do you think it's possible that every action occurs on earth because it was meant to happen that way? Are you destined to being in a certain place and time throughout life? Or do you believe there's no such thing as destiny and that the world is governed by random chance?

I don't believe in predestination. I know that some choices we make can start a chain reaction of events...but I don't believe in the idea that our lives are decided before we make those choices. It seems like a waste of time to me. And if there is a deity out there who's watching over us, don't you think that'd be like watching re-run after re-run...I don't know about you, but that gets pretty freaking old.

Sometimes I think things are just meant to turn out that way, but I don't think it specifically works like that. I think everyone that happens is down to chance. We have free will (to a certain extent, kudos to the government...) and I think that there can't be anything that decides what we do, if free will exists. Overall, I think everything that happens is pure luck, or chance.
But what if free will is just a ruse? What if whatever creator designed us made us believe that free will exists to actually cover up the fact that we have none? That would freak me out...I like your post. I agree with you quite a bit!

I believe in karma more than destiny.

I never thought about it like that.. I guess it could all just be a lie; though I have to admit, I don't think I'd be too surprised..! Haha.
It's kind of a scary thought, when you sit back and think about it. It'd be kind of a sick joke, in my book. Thanks for the add by the way!

I believe that everything happens for a reason.

Most of the good things that happen to me I put down to good luck & being in the right place at the right time. I think my life is map out & things happen to get me to the next place of my life.

I'm enjoying the journey & have no plans. Destiny will guide me to where I'm meant to be. It's worked for my whole life so far.

Even bad things end up leading to good things. I'm laughing my way to life; it's the only way to be... PS I'm having a good day. :)

I hear ya on that! I've seen it happen more and more in the past few years. I've always believed in it but more so recently than ever before. Very good point!

Of course it does!

If things happening didn't have a reason then why would it happen?

Your choices make you who you are.
