It's arguin' time!

In the United States, we currently have a "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy regarding homosexuals in our military. It's against policy to either come out as gay or ask someone else if they're gay. A service member can be ejected if it's discovered they are a homosexual. Do you think this is fair? Should the policy remain in place or is this institutionalized discrimination?

I think the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" thing should stay, because there are still a lot of homophobes in the world, and if someone reveals that they're gay, it may cause a lot of problems. But I don't think that right after it is revealed that someone is gay, they should be ejected. Maybe only if it causes problems between some people. Sucks that there still are homophobes that homosexual people can't even show who they are, but thats how the world is at the moment.

Everyone in the military is there for basically the same reason. They just need to pay attention to what they're there to do.

Isn't it better to be asked straight than being thought behind your back. Then again, I'm not gay and haven't been in a military.
