QOTD: Do teenagers know what true love is?

I've certainly heard it. I've certainly said it. But is it true?

Does the understanding of what true love is develop with age? Or can teenagers truly fall in love?

I think some can experience true love. My parents married when they were 19. Next month they will celebrate their 47th wedding anniversary. I do think that it is harder for teenagers in today's society to commit though. There's sooo much more vying for their attention.

Does it not depend on the maturity of the individual?
I think so too.

I saw last week a report about it. They have shown teenager and parents who watch together pornos. These kids think sex = love

Agree. I would add that there are different types of love. I think most people confuse loving someone and being "in love".

it depends on a lot of things, maturity for one. I knew girls who every guy was true love according to them but also some he were serious enough to realize the implications of what they were saying. So honestly its a person to person thing.

Definately depends on the person....and the maturity level... not the age. I met my hubby when I was a junior in high school--- and we just celebrated 21 years together.

Ok I withdraw my first comment.
Maybe.
For me personally, from a teenagers point of view? Not really.
Not when I'm worried of making a fool of myself by talking to the guy, not a chance.

hmm;yes depends on the maturity of their mind.

what made me think is;does adult understand it?
it's frustrating to watch people you thought are wiser falling on their feet when it comes to love.

asking them to explain doesnt help either.

i guess i wouldnt understand it until im older.
