I think this could be a neat way to learn more about each other.
Do you play (or have you played) any sports? This could professionally, in school, for a local team, or even just for your health.
On the flipside, is there any sport you wish you could play?

bedshaped: 10/30/2007 9:15 AM I played soccer for about six years but I had to quit when i was 14 (I moved) since then I only go to the gym a couple of days a week, But i miss the team spirit.
I wish i could play baseball, it looks like so much fun. it's too bad we don't have it in sweden.

Sanyyy: 10/30/2007 9:22 AM In school we had to play every year an other sport. The worst was playing rugby. We played it only a few times because I crashed into an other girl, she went at once to the dentist and the teacher got trouble. I think rugby is only a sport for boys
My favorite sport was always volleyball
I was also in a local swimming team but when I was 14 it became pretty boring.

Buzznet's Official MiseryXchordâ„¢: 10/30/2007 10:26 AM Archery.. which is odd because I'm terrified of being skewered, impaled or perforated by any type of projectile or pointy object, trail biking when I was (much) younger, and hiking. I wish I could 1) swim better, because surfing/boogieboarding was fun when I was a kid (except for not being able to see the zombie-sharks), and 2) Ice skate, because skating looks like fun and I love hockey.
Unfortunately, I could never build up the right muscles enough to make 1 and 2 realistic as actual sports...I was always very VERY thin and had malnutrition pretty bad until I left home and was able to go completely vegetarian, and was written out of P.E. in High School after being hit in the face with every piece of sports equipment they subjected us to, including a softball bat (eye), a FQKING basketball (bridge of nose), and the shallow end of a swimming pool (concussion/head trauma), Why no, I don't have any depth perception, how could you tell? I used to skateboard, but that was before they had the nice decks they have now and the neon plastic bendiy thing I had salvaged from someone's garbage and nearly killed myself on bore no resemblance.
My health issues still pop up often enough that I'm never going to be a Gladys Portugues, even when I can work out at the gym. I can walk/hike a pretty respectable distance/duration even in my gimpy state, but ice skating uses a different set of muscles and I might as well be wearing anvils on my feet (ditto for swimming but anvils in water)

softlywetremble: 10/30/2007 11:43 AM i played softball for 7 years but i was getting sick of everyone and how bad they were so i stopped. During that time period i cheerleaded for 2 years but I was the only person putting in any effort and worked hard so i quit that. So then i did dance and ive stuck with that since even though i dont consider it a sport i consider it an art. I still have shitty people in my dance classes but i have my friends so thats good.

mychemkid: 10/30/2007 12:56 PM I do Karate, been doing it for a few years now. I played football (soccer for most of you) until I buggered my knee up ice skating, but going to try and play again for the school team. I also used to do swimming since I was very young but quit last year heh.

estefinista: 10/30/2007 1:03 PM I used to play soccer and hockey up until the third grade...
when I was in a soccer accident when the opposing team's kid's left cleat drove into my right knee.
Since then, I only played those sports during Phys Ed in middle school and high school.
I had to wear a knee brace though... which totally felt limiting. =/
I try playing now and then, but hardly get to since I tend to be real busy.
