Sir I beseach you and may these words reach you
to ask you once again why
Are we to far below that you cannot bestow
an end to our anguishing cry
why oh why did she die

I do consider pause, to question your cause
with tactifullness I do try
for I do fear all that is dear
to ask is your plan wry
why, pray why did she die

Is this your war to settle a score
or a bet to see our comply
are we just toys of some little boys
tantrum risen cry
why oh why did she die

I would have trade but she forbade
the peace you cannot deny
in our sorrow there will be tomorrow
to once again defy
when I ask why did she die
