An archive cover of The Stooges classic “I Wanna Be Your Dog” and the song “2017” from the band Eddie Star & The Zero Effect is being released for the first time since the live performance in 1998. The recordings were considered lost and reflect the punk revitalization in Los Angeles during that time. The single is being released digitally on March 19th through Monroe Entertainment Records Group and will be available on itunes. The Stooges song is being released on the 44 year anniversary of the original recording and keeps the spirit of the punk anthem alive for a new generation. “We had no idea we were being taped but the energy of the song brings back the inspiration that made me want to play music in the first place.” says Eddie Star. “I want to release music that is true to the fans. This release is for them.” Eddie Star began his music career at age 17 when he began working with producer Arthur G. Wright (Billy Preston, Thank God It’s Friday) His first band Eddie Star and the Zero Effect was a perfect blend of rock'n'roll and punk in the vein of such bands as Joan Jett and The Blackhearts, The Stooges, and The Ramones; all of whom first influenced the London, Ontario, native to pick up a guitar.
