Yep, this is also the Maple River!  It winds all around us here!  I love this trail because it is on the very top of the hill looking down at the river!  We didn't get the 3 inches of snow that was predicted for us today!  YAY!!! We did get crazy wind and cold !  The wind was just too much for me!  I couldn't get on a boat and head out into Lake Huron when it is blowing this badly!  I am a great big chicken! (((: We will just have to go to Mackinac Island another time!  I hope everyone had a wonderful mother's day!  We are celebrating together tomorrow!  I am pretty excited! Here is another shot of the Maple River!  It flows around twists and turns throughout our community!  This spot has no nature trails, so I shot this from the road !  The trees now have buds or tiny leaves depending on the type of tree that it is !  And ... we have snow in the forecast for tomorrow! I am NOT happy about this, and I hope it doesn't happen! We had a pretty serious power outage today!  I have no idea what caused it, but all of northern Emmet County was out !  I am so relieved that they got it back on in just a few hours!  The last time our power went out it was out for 3 days! I had a very hectic day babysitting!  Gary is teething and he was a very fussy little guy today!  Typically if something makes him cry a combination of his "paci", taggy, and me holding him is a very quick fix!  Today nothing worked !  He only took one nap too!  He usually still takes a morning and afternoon nap!  He and I were both relieved when I put him to bed for the night !  Sweet dreams precious boy! hello. :) So (as some of you may know), last week I visited to very lovely Griffith Observatory. It really is such a gorgeous place, during the day and night. I have some pictures that I took inside of the actual observatory that I'll upload later, along with some sunset photos I took at the same place. For now though, I'll just put up the photographs that I took of ONLY the L.A. skyline at night. Enjoy! P.S: Sorry if these get a bit repetitive. P.S.S: I was trying out different styles of editing, which kind of explains the mess towards the end of this blog post. Sorry if you think the colouring is a bit too inconsistent.
