My Dear Rose ch.4

Hayley Williams POV

Thoughts bounced off the walls of my brain. What happens if I wasn't good enough? What if I mess up? I don't even have a song ready! We reached the Farro's house and went to the basement. The set up was nice. 

" This is were the music is made!" Zac said enthusiastically. 

" More like the noise." Jeremy scoffed, clearly disipointed that I was about to hear them play.

" Don't be such a-a..." He couldn't find the right word. 

" Whatever. Let's just play." Josh groaned. They got themselves ready. Josh took lead singer and guitarist. 

And here we go again, with all the the things you said

and not a minute spent, to think that we'd regret 

so we just take it back, these words and hold our breath

forget, the things we swore we meant. 

I'll write you just to let you know, that I am alright, 

can't say i'm sad to see you go. Cause I'm not, well

I'm not.

They awkwardly ended the song. The rest of the lyrics started forming in my head.

" That was...amazing." I stutter, trying not to throw myself at them. Smiles filled their faces. 

" Yeah, but my voice isn't made for all the high notes. We are searching for a new lead singer." Josh said, as if he read my mind. This was my open window. I leaped.

" Oh...can I try, just you know, for the sake of it." My heart stopped. 

" Sure." I rejoyced silently. Josh took a few steps to his right. I grabbed the mic. I started to sing an octave higher than Josh. I quickly finished. I turned back. They were all awe struck. Oh gosh was I really that bad? I awaited my judging. 

" Want to be our new lead singer?" Taylor jumped in. I couldn't belive it. I nodded quickly, trying not to squeel like a girl. 

" Let's get some food, I am starving!" Zac cried from behind the drums. As I munched on a poptart Zac handed me, I thought about my future. My dream, finally. It was in sight.
