The Evil Within Chapter 6

This part is really just a filler part. Not much drama in this one but there is defiantely some on the way. There will be a numerous amount of characters in this story and it's hard to introduce them all so just bare with me. Remember to comment, buzz and hopefully enjoy! :D

Taylor's Pov: I exited the gym with my heavy football bag clutched tightly in one hand. I was so sweaty after that practice it was pretty hardcore. I noticed that the new kid Zac had the same last name as Josh. I noticed that because Josh is in my bio class and the teacher made him stand up and introduce himself to the class. They had to be brothers because they kind of look alike and also because Josh told us he had a brother Zac when we were at the lunch table that time. I lugged my bag towards my locker when I felt someone staring at me. I glanced around quickly to see Cass trying to creep over to me with a blow up football. 

"Damn it Tay your so hard to scare!" She whined tossing the ball to me. I caught it with with one hand and flipped it around checking it out.

"This is cool" I laughed and dumped my bag on the floor. I zipped it open and stuffed it in softly before zipping it back up.

"You didn't have to stay" I smiled wrapping my arms around her waist as she placed hers around my neck.

"Don't you want me here?" She pouted, running her hand through my hair. I shivered at her touch. 

"Well I just don't want our friends to get suspicous of us. The last thing we need is to let them know that we are dating again" I reminded her and lightly kissed her lips.

"It's just so hard to pretend to be your friend" 

"I know babe but things will change soon. I will tell them when Jeremy gets over you" 

Yes Jeremy and Cass dated. They dated for a couple of weeks but she broke it off with him. She told him that there was someone else. That someone else was me. Cass and I dated first though. We dated for about three months but things got heavy and she wasn't ready for the real thing yet. That's when she dated Jeremy. Lets just say that as soon as they broke up we hooked up. I don't want to tell Jeremy anything about Cass and I until I'm one hundred per cent sure that he's moved on. I don't want to ruin our friendship.

"Ok I get it" She sighed "I just can't wait to go public with you"

I definately can wait. I'm not to keen on telling Jeremy anything yet.

Zac’s Pov: “Later dude” I smiled and waved turning in my own direction. I had already made a friend. His name was Michael Brown. We just had football practice together. I checked the time as I made my way to my car. It was almost ten. Josh is going to hate me for being home late.

“Wait man!” I heard Michael call from behind me. I turned around surprised as he came jogging toward me.

“You forgot your jersey” He laughed handing it to me. I laughed along at my own stupidity.

“Hey Michael are you ready to go?” A girl with brown hair appeared beside us. I froze as she looked at me. She had beautiful hazel eyes and curly brown hair. She smiled at me. Oh her smile.

“Zac this is my sister Emily, Em this is Zac” He introduced. She smiled again and shook my hand “Nice to meet you Zac”

I froze again as I smelt that familiar smell. She stiffened as soon as our hands made contact. Her eyes darted up at mine with a horrified look. Michael seemed to have noticed the strange glances that Emily and I shared so he told Emily he would meet her in the car. He said goodbye to me but I barely heard him. My eyes were glues to hers, and as soon as Michael was out of sight she leaped away from me.

“Vampire” She spat in disgust. I didn’t answer I was too shocked to utter a word. How could somebody so beautiful be one of them?

“What do you want with my brother? Huh?! Was he going to be your next victim or something?” She demanded not taking her eyes off mine for a second.

“No of course not. I’m not here to hurt anybody” I assured her but she narrowed her eyes.

“Bullshit”

“I’m serious I’m not like the other vampires, I drink from blood bags only”

“Bullshit you’re all the same” She hissed.

“Please I get that you don’t trust me ok I get it, but please believe me when I say that I won’t hurt anybody in this town. I promise”

She eyed me suspiciously. “You’re right. I don’t trust you”

“Fair enough” I shrugged and turned away from her “Have a good night then Emily” I say as I walk to my car and unlock the door. I can feel her watching my every move.

“Wait” She calls “Your just going to leave this town? No fight to the death?” She asks happily. I turn so I’m facing her.

“No I’m not leaving, but I’m not hurting anyone either. You have every right not to trust me but you have no right to judge me because of what other vampires have done.”

Her mouth fell open in surprise as I climbed into my car and drove up beside her. “I’ll see you around” I winked and drove away leaving her behind.

Josh's Pov: I stared at the tiny stars in the sky, as the cool breeze gently whipped at my hair. I coughed into my palm and pulled out my phone. The little light flashed as the time appeared on the screen 9:30pm. I let out a deep breath and stood up dusting off my jeans. I slowly made my way off her porch and onto her lawn. I could hear her curtains getting drawn back and I knew that she was watching me. I had waited for her to come outside for hours now, for her to talk to me even just a little bit. But the other reason I stayed is because I had to keep her safe.

I knew that somehow Jacob would find out where she lived and it would only be a matter of time before he paid a visit. If she ever invited him in.... I shook that thought out of my head. No. I refuse to let him hurt her. As her house left my sight I heard a rustle in the bushes. I slowly turned around to see what it was. There was nothing but an empty sidewalk. I then turned around again to find Jacob standing in front of me with his arms crossed. His green eyes sparkled in delight as his eyes darted over to Hayley’s yard then me. He gave me a satisfied smirk and uncrossed his arms.

"Looking out for the girlfriend huh?" He joked with his hands on his hips.

I shoved past him and continued to walk further away from her house knowing he would follow me. He just has to get on my nerves besides I have to get him away from her house. Now that he knows where she lives anything could happen and admittedly, that scared me a little. I could hear his heavy footsteps following behind me.

"Oh that's right I forgot. She doesn't want to talk to you."

I continued my fast pace until I reached the end of her street. I then turned down another street and continued to walk. Suddenly he appeared in front of me, stopping me from continuing any further.

"You know, you should have been more honest with her in the beginning" He scolded lightly. I tried to walk past him again but he pushed me back.

"I know where she lives." He threatened

I scoffed. "Good for you." He eyed me up and down.

"So you wouldn't mind if I compelled her to invite me in? It would save me having to buy takeout." He joked in a serious way.

"Look. If you do hurt her, then I will do everything in my power, to make sure that you don't live to see tomorrow." I threatened, puffing out my chest.

"Yeah well I'm stronger." He mused his smirk not faltering.

“Besides, I probably shouldn’t have been the one to tell her about your ex-girlfriend Jenna” He laughed slapping my shoulder.

“You did what?” I asked in disbelief. When he didn’t answer I shoved him violently backwards.

"You had no right telling her about Jenna!" I hissed as he gained his balance. He looked shocked by the amount of power I put in that one push.

"You still got it huh?" He smirked "Those blood bags are doing you some good."

"You know how dangerous I get when I'm angry Jacob. Don't fucking push me!" I snarled.

"Yes I know how angry you get. You rip people’s throats out, tear them in half." He countered no longer smirking.

"I am not like that anymore." I defended.

"Yes you are! You can't deny what you are Josh! As much as you want to believe that you've changed, you haven't. The craving is just buried beneath. Dormant."

Suddenly I clicked. It was like a light bulb went off in my head.

"That's why you’re here." I realized stepping forward. "You're here to turn me back into that same monster I was years ago."

He shook his head. "Josh. The monster is you. I'm just here to help you embrace it."

"It has taken me years to get off human blood and you followed my Brother and I here just to knock us back of the rails?"

I stomped right up to him so my face was inches in front of his. "I'm not a monster anymore."

Jacob gives me one last look. It wasn't a look of cockiness that he always wore, in fact it was a look of sympathy, like my cat had just died or something.

"I will see you later Josh. Maybe your girl too." He says before disappearing.

Jacob was up to something. I don’t know what it is but I have a very bad feeling about it.

I just hope it doesn’t involve Hayley.
