Okay, you could say "Why you write one shots insted of new chapters of "All That You Are"? Well...I'm guessing the same thing to myself.
Okay, right, not at all, the answer in simply that when I feel like writing...i write, and it can be the new chapter of ATYA as it can be another idea, that's it.
And this time (sadly) is another idea.
BUT, before you start reading, the fact is this. Yeah, this one has born as a One Shot, but it ended in a very very "open" way (I really dind't want to, but if i had continued it i would end up too long). NOW, if you want I could continue it, so this would become the chapter 1 of a new joshley, OR, if you like the mysterious way it ends (like not knowing if they'll end up together or stuff like that) I can let this be a one shot :)
Ok, let me know!
Oh, and ps...my first 'serious' banner y'all! hahah :P
The park lot was completely empty, the only presence was the cold blowing wind that was running through my hair, my mouth was covered up by the collar of my jacket, I really couldn’t get how it could be so damn cold out there.
I took my cellphone, he was 20 minutes late, damn him.
I called him, begging for his quick answer, my hand was about to froze and glue with the cellphone “Hayles?” “Where the heck are you?! I’m frozing!” I heard him sigh “Hayley sorry, I wanted to call you but…” it seemed like he didn’t know what to say “Look, I can’t come anymore, sorry hon, really”
I was speechless “Another time? How dare you?! You jerk! …Fuck you Chad, really” I didn’t even dare to wait him for saying something that I had closed the call.
“Great” I muttered to myself before opting for going to the nearest pub, it was only 10 in the night, my boyfriend just stood me up another time and I just wanted once and for all to break everything up with him in that right moment, he wasn’t even going to advise me, I could have stand there for other 2 hours if I wouldn’t have had the shrewdness of calling him, what a jerk.
I started walking, too bad my car was still at the reparation garage.
As a matter of my incredibly unlucky I was also quite far from my house, and I was in the suburbs, the road was quite dark and scary, just perfect.
After have walked for what seemed like hours I finally reached a little and old-seemed pub.
I entered, the little bells rang but the noise from the inside was too loud for anyone to hear my entrance.
The temperature difference hit me like a punch straight in the face, from the freezing cold of the outside I had been overwhelmed from a comfy and lovely warm.
There was a lot of people, most of them were men, some sat at the tables and some at the bar, the air was filled with smoke and loud laughs.
What I understood was that it surely wasn’t the right place for a tiny and lonely girl like me to get drunk, but I wanted to take advantage of that bit of freedom I was enjoying since Chad was out of my way.
I sat at the bar taking off my jacket, it was getting hot.
“You redhead lady, what can I get you?” the barman smirked at me while cleaning a glass with a duster “A pitcher of beer” he glanced at me like I had said something funny and then he called out another barman “Dale, a pitcher of beer for this hot chick!” I looked at him, in that moment I wanted to crash the glass he was cleaning right above his head.
He reached out at me, resting his elbow on the bar “You’re all alone here, I see” I gulped “No, not really, my…my boyfriend’s gonna get here soon” he smirked “Well, but he’s not here from now, and if you want…you know” “Hey babe, you’re here! I was waiting for you at the table” the barman looked quite pissed and I turned, facing the mysterious voice whom talked.
Well, hi there.
A good looking guy came toward me smiling, I didn’t know what to do. Just…play the role, right?
“I thought you were late! Why you didn’t tell me you were already here? I didn’t see you in the crowd of the room!” now that he was closer I could confirm how good looking he was, better than the first glance to be honest.
“What was happening?” he looked at the barman and he took a step back “Nothing babe, just chatting with the barman” the pervert one behind the bar nodded “Y-yeah, here’s your beer” I took my pitched winking him a smirk “Thanks” I stood up and followed to the table the handsome guy who saved me.
“Ma’am” I smiled and sat in front of him “Thanks” he took a gulp from his pitched and I did the same, he also had a very attractive lip ring.
“So…” “Hayley” I quickly said before his actual question.
He smirked “Hayley…a beautiful name for a beautiful lady” I took another gulp trying to hide the blush on my cheeks “And the guy who saved me is…?” he glanced at me “Josh” I nodded “Josh…a courage name for a courage guy?” I smirked and he smiled, trying to hold his laughs “I didn’t do nothing, really, I just…you know, I know Bill’s attitudes, and you easily draw attention, most of all for your amazing hair” I blushed once more, also because I really couldn’t stand his enchanting chocolate eyes “Thanks” I muttered, he just smiled back taking another gulp of his beer “You’re welcome, I just told you the truth…another pitcher?” I looked down at mine, is was already empty. How could it be?
“Y-yeah, why not” he nodded and stood up, returning after 2 minutes with two full jugs.
We stayed there talking for what seemed like hours, and I was drinking a lot.
“But, hey, you didn’t tell me what a little beautiful girl like you was doing here all alone” I smirked “I had a date with my boyfriend, but he just stood me up” “Gross” “I know right? But that dick head just did that” he quietly shook his head “That’s why you’re drinking so much? Cause your guy’s blew you off?” “No, of course not! Just cause I love beer, but whenever I was with him he didn’t want me to drink, neither a little” he burst out in laughs “Man…you’re amazing, really, different from any other girl I’ve been with, nice, amazingly good looking and with awesome flame red hair, magnet emerald eyes” I smiled softly at him “Sir, are you trying to sweep me off my feet?” he returned the smile, both leaning forward on the table “Am I doing great?” I did a little nod with my head, a smirk appeared on my lips. Geez, this dude was handsome.
“Too bad you have a boyfriend…” he whispered, gently putting a lock of hair behind my ear, I gazed at him biting my lower lip “Well…I was thinking to break up with him tomorrow so actually…for me we’re not together anymore” our glances were glued, an amused smile shaped on his lips “Interesting…” “It is” the beer was quietly clouding my thoughts, the words were going out so easily, but I could realize that, and for me it really was okay.
Chad wasn’t my issue anymore, and I could have fun, right? And…c’mon, the guy in front of me was handsome and smart, the perfect combination in my opinion.
He looked at his wristwatch “You got a car sweet lady?” I quietly shook my head “Nope” he kind of seemed relieved “Great, want a ride?” before I could think about an answer the alcohol spoke for me, making me nod.
We stood up and after 2 minutes uselessly spent on me forcing him not to pay for me we went out the pub.
We got to his car as soon as we could, we were freezing.
He turned up the air conditioner “You can drive? You’re not…drunk?” he smirked quite amused “I’m not that drunk! And I keep good the beer, don’t worry…now, where do I get you?” me head was so heavy, like a massive rock above my head.
I rested my head against the window on my right “Ugh…wherever you want” and with that my eyes became absurdly heavy and even without any realization I fell asleep.
“Hey sleepyhead wake up” I lazily opened my eyes, yawning.
Where was I?
“Morning?” I said quite unsure, the guy from the pub, Josh, laughed staring at me “Well, you should say good lunch, is 12 already” I looked around, I was lying on a bed, but luckily I was fully dressed as the night before.
“Wow, have I really slept this much?” I managed a laugh but my head started twisting “Shit” he gave me a worried look. Damn, this guy was adorable in every single expression.
“Dizziness, right?” I put my hand on my forehead “As hell, I’m not used to all that alcohol…but anyways, why am I here?” he sat next to me “You didn’t tell me where was your home, you told me to get you wherever I wanted so…here you are, the only option” I slowly tried to stood up, sitting on the bed “Well…thanks, at least you’re not a maniac or something. And you really just wanted to…carry me home?” he gave me a perplexed expression and I bit my tongue.
Damn it. “No, I mean, I-“ “I thought about that” he cut me off and I stared at him, not sure of what to say, and he continued “But I also thought that you’re not an ordinary girl, in the best way of course, and I didn’t want to force things…so yeah, at the end I was just thinking of carrying you home” the voice inside my head was just screaming at me how totally perfect this guy confirmed he was, and also it seemed as he liked me.
We were staring at each other, a dumb smile on my lips, but before anything interesting could happen my cellphone started ringing “Oh, right. It rang for like 10 times and I didn’t know if wake you up or not, but you were sleeping so hard that you didn’t hear a thing” I laughed “I guess I’ve never slept so hard in my entire life” I stood up and I took it from my jacket. Chad.
“Hello?” “Hello?! Where the fuck are you?” I sighed quite pissed “Chad, calm down, I’m at a friend’s house” “And why you didn’t answer?! I called you for like 10 times!” Josh was looking at me, like he wanted to know if I needed any help.
I just forced a smile and asked him if he had a tea or something, and he quietly nodded, while Chad kept yelling at the cellphone “Ok ok, Chad? It’s over, we’re done. And you know what? I’ve spent the most awful 6 months with you, and don’t even try to call me again” I closed the call, with my headache the last thing I needed was someone’s shouting.
I searched for the kitchen, this house was wonderful. In the “Hayley head’s list” I wrote off “Rich” with all the other notes I had written during the night regarding him.
“Hey” he smiled at me and I smiled back, he was making the tea I asked for “Hey” “How was it?” “I broke up with him” he nodded in understanding “Right, you told me you wanted to” I nodded back and I sat at the table “Nice house by the way” he smirked “Thanks…you stay for lunch?” I nodded, a smile appeared on my lips “I’d really like to”.
