Tues, Sept 27, was an amazing night for all MCR fans. I met up with some of the MCRmy Dallas before show while waiting to go to a Blink-182 meet & greet (I really wanted to meet MCR, but you take what you can get). Once the m&g ended I headed to the administration office to get my photo pass (side note: a huge shout out of thanks to Nada for letting me use her SLR to shoot the show). After a little confusion and missing Matt & Kim, I signed MCR's photography release paper, put on my media wristband and was then escorted to the stage. I set the camera on sport mode for high speed shooting just before the lights went down and the BLI woman showed up on big screen.    First Ray then Frank & Mikey, and finally Gerard appeared on stage as "Na, Na, Na" began play. I don't think I removed the camera from my face the entire song, but sang every lyric right along with Gerard and the rest of Gexa Energy Pavilion.   The second song on the setlist was "I'm Not Okay," which was okay by me since it's my favorite song. I so wanted to jump up and down with the crowd, but I had photos to take since this was my last song to shoot at the stage. Frank performed just as I had said he would in my fan blogger entry by rolling on his back while still playing guitar. But this show he decided to skip screaming "trust me", and instead hawked a loogie at his mic. The song finished and my two-song stage photography came to an end so I returned to my seat center stage Row P.    Still wearing the media wristband, I was able to continue shooting with the SLR from my seat. I took in all the excitement from the crowd and sang along with every song, I totally can't rememeber what songs were played in what order. But I do remember singing Our Lady of Sorrows, Mama, Famous Last Words, Helena, S/C/A/R/E/C/R/O/W, Welcome to the Black Parade, The Only Hope For Me Is You, Teenagers, Planetary (Go!), and Gerard closing the show solo with Cancer.   You may be asking why I haven't given too many details of the show, but I'm gonna let my pics do the talking. The show was amazing, the fans were awesome and MCR was fantastic as usual. Thanks again to MCR & Buzznet for giving me the opportunity to be the Dallas Fan Blogger. Sorry I didn't get my blog posted within 48hrs, but life has been crazy since the show. I want to give a shout out to the MCRmy Dallas. I loved seeing all the old soldiers and meeting the new Killjoys. Reblogged from apollosangel Gerard Way and Mikey Way from My Chemical Romance Photo by: Isabela Secanechia I could barely contain my excitement when I arrived&nbsp;at the Susquehanna Bank Center on Saturday September, 17th. I was going to see Matt and Kim, My Chemical Romance and Blink-182! When I got to the arena, I wasn't surprised to see the Blink-heads drastically outnumbering MCR's little Killjoys, but the Killjoys didn't let the intimidation of the other fans stop them from dressing in killer-costumes, wearing black make-up and flaunting their brightly colored hair. Once my friends and I got in, we rushed to the merch booth and got our hands on some awesome Blink and MCR wear! Afterward, we didn't hesitate to go visit the Honda Civic Tour Blink-182 car and My Chemical Romance's motorbike, and had a tough time deciding which HCT band logo spray-on tattoo to get! After we played around with the Boomer masks at the Macbeth tent, we rushed to get to our spots. My friend Emily and I separated from the guys and rushed to our seats, the show was about to start!&nbsp; Matt &amp; Kim Photo by: Isabela Secanechia Matt &amp; Kim put on a great performance. They were so energetic and sounded great live. There was a time where Kim threw balloons into the audience, and on the count of "1! 2! 3! 1! 2! 3! 4!" had everyone in the audience throw balloons into the air.&nbsp; Better Living Industries (My Chemical Romance) Photo By: Isabela Secanechia Once they said goodbye and exited the stage, I couldn't believe it was about to happen... My four- technically six- heroes were about to come out onto the stage. It was my second time seeing My Chemical Romance, but this time, I was even more excited than the first time! The anticipation of waiting for them to come on stage was huge! The big screen playing music videos and displaying texts didn't really help, but once the lights went out and the "Better Living Industries" logo and transmission video came on... the crowd-well the killjoys- went insane! They opened up with the Killjoy anthem, "NA NA NA!" and Emily and I ran from our seats to this reserved spot which was deserted! There was virtually NO ONE in front of us, and we were dead center of the arena! After NA NA NA they tore through a shocking and unexpected setlist! (I had done my research and saw previous HCT sets...) The auditorium soon filled with the beginning chords of "I'm Not Okay!" and then Gerard made a snarky response about dancing and brought out big glitter filled balloons fo r "Planetary (Go!)". The stage soon grew red and the crowd followed Gerard's lead and started clapping along to "Mama", and he afterward instructed former MCR fans to help him help the first time MCR viewers start "Helena" with a call and response of "oooooohs". He then mentioned how majority of the band's family and friends were in the audience and went into one of my favorites "The Kids From Yesterday". There wasn't one teenager dancing when "Teenager" started blaring through the arena, and Gerard told us that Frank said we were one of the best audiences ever, and that we shouldn't "fuck it up!" I personally went insane when Mikey Way played the opening notes to "Give 'Em Hell Kid" and the screen changed to the Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge logo. I wasn't expecting that whatsoever! The band then melted the hearts of the crowd with "The Only Hope For Me Is You". "This song's about nuclear bombs and the wars." stated Gerard before he played "S/C/A/R/E/C/R/O/W". Fireworks appropriately went off, due to the Phillies' win, during classic "Welcome to the Black Parade". Everyone but Gerard and the band's keyboardist, and Gerard took away everyone's breath by closing the show with "Cancer". My Chemical Romance is such a phenomenal band, especially live. Although it broke my heart to see a lot of the Blink-182 fans sitting or fooling around during MCR's set, witnessing the Killjoys' passion and love for the band lifted my spirit. There weren't nearly as many My Chem fans, but they're energy and voices filled the Susquehanna Bank Center. It also made me proud when I overheard some non-MCR fans talking about how shocked they were that My Chemical Romance was actually a "kick-ass" band! I would honestly relive this night over and over if I could. I remember my first My Chemical Romance concert. It wasn't too long ago actually, just last April (so technically it would be pretty hard to forget). I was stuck at the back of the crowd. But despite being so far away from the stage I thought I was right up next to it since they perform with so much energy and connect with every single member of the audience.&nbsp; The guys of My Chemical Romance have such an amazing stage presence that can fill small clubs -like where I saw them last- and huge amphitheatres like Usana, where they performed this Saturday. It was intresting to see the diffrence between the audiences that Blink-182, Rancid, and My Chemical Romance brought in. Rancid seemed to have an older punk fans, while MCR's audience consisted of mostly teenagers and young adults, and Blink fans fell somewhere in the middle. Rancid was an excellent opening for Blink and MCR. They had everyone in the audience tapping their feet and bobbing their heads.&nbsp; After Rancid it was MCR's turn to take the stage. The set-up didn't take too long and the stage was ready in about 10 minutes. Suddenly, film reel began to show on the giant screen above the stage, and the crowd went wild, and when the band took the stage, the crowd screamed even louder. The band opened with "Na Na Na" which they played with tons of energy and vigor, and they kept up the energy throughout the entire night. Ray and Frank ripped though solo after solo. Mikey was confident and steady on the bass, and Gerard powered through every song with nearly flawless vocals. After "Na Na Na" they played "I'm Not Okay", a crowd pleaser, and one of my favorite songs too. I even took a few breaks between taking pictures to sing along.&nbsp; Throughout the rest of their performance the played quite a few songs from Danger Days. "The Only Hope For Me Is You" and "Planetary (GO!)" had the crowd going crazy, dancing and singing along, They also played a few of the classics from Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge&nbsp;and The Black Parade&nbsp;like "Teenagers", "Give 'Em Hell Kid", and "Helena". Some songs I hadn't heard live before were "Kids From Yesterday", which you could tell was a favorite of the band because they played it so intensely, and "S/C/A/R/E/C/R/O/W" one of my personal favorites. It was intresting to see how the guitar sounds changed without the production effects and how they worked sound effects from the album into their live performance.&nbsp; "We love being in Salt Lake City," Gerard said between songs."It's such a beautiful place with beautiful people," He gestured to the sun setting behind the back row of seats. "This is one of the most beautiful settings we've played on tour." It's nice to see the band appreciate our city, because up until a year or two ago Utah wasn't a big destination for touring musicians, so it's awesome to see big names like My Chemical Romance and Blink-182 visit our state. "We almost couln't be here tonight," Gerard also said. They had to find a replacement drummer for their former touring drummer Michael Pedicone over the course of a few short days. &nbsp;The man they found for the job; Jarrod Alexander from Death By Stereo, fit in well with the band. There weren't any noticable diffrences in rhythm. &nbsp;"I think he's (drummer) number 8," Gerard joked to the crowd. My Chemical Romance finished their set with "Cancer". The crowd sang along and brought sort of a raw power to the stage, even though it was just Gerard and keyboardist, James Dewees, on stage. It was sort of a sudden ending, but a nice one since they played such a distinct, fan-favorite song.&nbsp; My Chemical Romance is a band with such spectacular stage presence and energy that they deliever all the dedicated fans and Killjoys an unforgettable night, whether they're at the front of the barricade or the back row of seats. As soon as I arrived at the arena in Vancouver, there were tons of My Chemical Romance fans all around. There were fans all over the street, getting off the near-by train station, everywhere. Though there was still an hour and a half to go before the show even started, fans were lining up and getting pumped to see the performance. I&rsquo;ve never seen so many people in MCR shirts in my entire life. So many, that the number of My Chemical Romance fans seemed to almost be equal to the number of Blink182 fans. Standing in line myself waiting to get my tickets I overheard a number of people say they came from the US and had to travel quite a distance to get there. Others also said they came from other parts of Canada. My Chemical Romance fans always manage to surprise me at just how far they&rsquo;ll go for the band and how dedicated they are. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; After I got my tickets, I went to collect my photo pass. I wondered around for a while, but eventually found where I needed to be. All the photographers had to wait to be brought up to the photo pit by officials before we could begin taking pictures. Once I did arrive at the photo pit, again I was taken back. The moshpit was packed with MCR fans screaming for the band. After the first two opening acts, the crew began to set up the equipment for My Chemical Romance. Both the fans and I grew more and more anxious as the stage crew ran through the final sound checks. Finally, the band came on&hellip;and the crowd went wild. I could barely hear myself think with all the screaming. &nbsp; &nbsp; Being as close as I was to the band was truly a once in a life time experience. Where I was in the photo pit was incredible. I was literally less than a couple feet away from the band and, when Gerard would come to the front of the stage, a few inches. I&rsquo;m not one to get nervous in those kinds of situations, but being so near to my favorite band, my heart did skip several beats. Even though I was busy trying to take the photos, I still had the best view to watch the show. During the whole thing I was thinking to myself, &ldquo;Oh my god, I can&rsquo;t believe I&rsquo;m this close!&rdquo; and &ldquo;This is really happening!&rdquo; After the first two songs, all the photographers were led away from the photo pit. I can honestly say I never thought I&rsquo;d ever get the chance to do anything like the opportunity I had. &nbsp; Once I got back from the photo pit, I went to my seat and watched the rest of the performance. The show was amazing! They played songs off all three of the last albums and some of which happened to be my favorites. The band also sounds so great live, just like they do on their albums&hellip;unlike other bands that I&rsquo;ve heard live, but turn out to be studio voices. I can see the band deeply loves doing their job and they do it so well. They really know how to connect with their audience and you can tell by how the crowd reacts to them. Each one of the band members are truly excellent performers, which is what I think is so great about seeing them, they never disappoint. -Arabella Bonsor P.S. I&rsquo;m a planner.&nbsp; And a list maker.&nbsp; I like to keep things in order before an event as much as I can, so that when the day comes, and I&rsquo;m inevitably excited and rushing around, I won&rsquo;t forget anything.&nbsp; It was doubly important for me this time, excited as I was about winning Tour Blogger for MCR (a huge, huge thing for someone who wants to get into Concert Photography). I made my list on 8/10.&nbsp; Camera, extra clothes (in case of rain), painting, ticket, wallet, etc.&nbsp; Pretty standard.&nbsp; I probably could have remembered enough of it without the list, but hey.&nbsp; Better safe. With my essentials packed up (and a stop at Starbucks), I was ready!&nbsp; I was also way earlier than I needed to be.&nbsp; I arrived at the venue (Darien Lakes Performing Arts Center in Buffalo, NY) at 11:15.&nbsp; There were two people there before me, a really nice couple that I made friends with, Dominic and Melia.&nbsp; We had a good laugh about being so early and kept each other sane throughout the day, watching the concert set up, people wandering by and taking random pictures to amuse ourselves. Eventually, more people started showing up, as people tend to do with these things, and we took our place at the front of the line.&nbsp; I was able to get some great pictures of MCR fans waiting outside as well.&nbsp; A very good friend of mine, Jenna, arrived to round out our little group and we were ready.&nbsp; It felt like a mad dash inside, though we walked the whole way.&nbsp; Probably just the excitement and anticipation boiling over to fuzz everything a little.&nbsp; We paused to take a quick picture with the MCR Honda CBR250R motorcycle. Fans! Waiting in line. Killjoy! The crowd, eagerly waiting. Jenna and the bike! Then it was off to our respective places.&nbsp; Manchester Orchestra was up first, and though their set was great, I couldn&rsquo;t help with wait anxiously for the next band.&nbsp; The one I&rsquo;d driven two hours and then waited another seven to see.&nbsp; My Chemical Romance.&nbsp; Armed with my camera and painting of Mikey, I was ready. I got some great pictures of the setup as techs ran around getting things ready, including one of the setlist.&nbsp; It revealed a song plan I never would have anticipated, but then isn&rsquo;t MCR known for doing the unexpected and making it work? The setlist. Anticipation. Ready to begin. The band walked out, one by one and began.&nbsp; With heavy electric guitar and drums, they slammed into Sleep, a song I&rsquo;d always thought of as rather sedate compared to a lot of others, and made it work as a loud, emotional, high energy opener. After that, it was immediately into Give &lsquo;Em Hell Kid, and Mikey playing the opening bass beat had the crowd screaming. Every song was full of feeling, in your face and unapologetic, just as I&rsquo;d expect anything from this band to be.&nbsp; Gerard all but snarled through parts of Destroya and they finished strong with Teenagers, I&rsquo;m Not Okay and Famous Last Words, the crowd screaming back every line. One of the tings I love most about seeing bands live is watching the members interact with each other and they were full of excited grins and compliments for each other.&nbsp; It was great to see the camaraderie between everyone.&nbsp; Around the time the band was sliding into Kids From Yesterday, I held up the painting of Mikey that I&rsquo;d done and brought along in hopes of passing it to Gerard at some point.&nbsp; Mikey seemed to glance at it, but didn&rsquo;t really make any sort of acknowledgement.&nbsp; In one of the highlights of my night however, MCR&rsquo;s tour manager appeared out of nowhere not long after to collect my painting with a smile and careful hands to carry it off back stage.&nbsp; I could only watch as they disappeared around the corner, grinning with many of the others around me who&rsquo;d seen and complimented the painting while waiting.&nbsp; Mission accomplished. All in all the set, if surprising in it&rsquo;s song choice, was spectacular.&nbsp; One of the things that struck me most, especially looking back now, was all the color.&nbsp; Something that definitely, and happily, came through in a lot of my photos.&nbsp; I met up with great friends, made some new ones and had a really great time.&nbsp; It&rsquo;s definitely a night I won&rsquo;t soon forget. &nbsp;I only hope that everyone else, waiting on the edge of their seat in anticipation for the shows they&rsquo;ll be going to, have just as good a time.
