Sarhua Boards - Tablas de Sarhua - Quellcas
Sarhua is a town located in Ayacuho, in the center of Peru. Ayacucho is also known for its beautiful "Retablos". In this case we have the Sarhua Boards. These rustic boards or ceremonial beams in Sarhua contain images of the family going about their daily business, which can later be remembered together with their favorite objects, animals and plants.
Incas also use to prepare it, but they call them "Quellcas". Traditionally, they were painted in the beams and columns of the house. Now, that is considered an art in Sarhua Town, they use special planks and they teach this art from parents to children always inside a family.
