What creeps you out more?

Some people think of horror as out and out gore, and some think of it as the creeping under your skin that comes from not knowing. Tell me, dear members, what gives you the creep factor more?

Personally, it's the psychological torment of not knowing what's around the next bend. Not being able to see through the dark and fog. What made that sound over there? It puts the shivers in me.

Great topic!

Those are two very different sort of fears... I agree with you, I prefer the psychological kind. The gory type has a greater cringe factor and only gets to me on a very shallow level. The feeling of being really haunted by something, however, can stay with me for a very long time.

I guess that's why I prefer ghosts to any other scary creature (among many reasons).

There are a lot of things the give me the hebe-geebes but I'll go with a story I heard on the radio called Bizarre Files. A man (I don't remember where) actually bled to death in his apartment from picking his nose too much. Apparently the man was old, had dementia and lived by himself.

That made my sink crawl a bit.

I think it's a bit more terrifying that your sink was crawling around at all, haha.

But seriously, that is very creepy and sad at the same time.

Oh, don't you love it when you're staring off into space at, say, the ceiling and you start seeing faces in the cracks/stains/stucko/shadows?

I don't think I like that at all!

I've been told I have the two strangest fears. Dogs In Hats and Plastic Bags. I kid you not.
