Welcome to the "I voted for gym class and all i got was this sweet ass VMA" group.... Here are some notes from Matt & Dishashi. .yooo!

much respect to everyone who helped us take home a moon-man at this years vma's. guess we've come along way since being your favorite under-dogs. we're really fortunate to have such a dedicated following...that being said, massive thank you's go out to everyone online for keeping your fingers glued to the voting page at mtv's website.

we're taking the week off to catch our breath from a busy summer. beginning next week we'll be back out on the road making beautiful music up and down and across the united states. there's a slue of dates posted and some that aren't, including a benefit show that we're doing in good ol' geneva...i gotta make sure and add cam's pizza and a garbage plate to our rider before that one!

oh yeah, if you blinked and missed our performance of "clothes off" on tv the other night, you can watch it in it's entirety right here on the MTV website. i'm actually really thrilled with how well the sound quality is...well, that and tyler's keyboard tone which he meticulously selected earlier that afternoon. well, that and that, and being joined by patrick and our new friend ne-yo. if you scroll down further you can watch "queen and i", which we also performed. check it...

Anyone who was watching the MTV Video Music Awards when Gym Class Heroes was announced as best new artist (what?!?!) witnessed that our "acceptance speech" was more of a Decaydance family mosh pit that thrived for about 6 minutes or so. It is amazing to feel that all the love and support shown to us throughout these past several years has been rewarded in a very historical way, not only to us as a band but also to everyone who has been there to motivate and inspire us along the way. The energy in that room when we heard our names (actually all we heard was "Gym...") was nothing short of explosive. I can honestly say that was one of the most surreal and emotionally intense moments of my life and for that I'm not even sure how to put a proper "thank you" into words. But that doesn't mean I won't try (wink wink)....

Thank you so much to all of our beautiful family, friends, and fans for voting, coming out to shows, buyin' our CDs, spreading the word to non-believers, giving us hugs, bringing us sweet-ass presents, dancing and driving to our music, and believing in us. We are extremely lucky to be in a position where we can do what we love for a living, but even more fortunate to have large following of dedicated and open-minded people who are willing to give us a chance every single day.
