My name is Paloma Perez, I am 21 years old and live in New Mexico. I am a media arts and photography student at a local college. I have been a fan of My Chemical Romance for such a long time. Their music means more to me than I can explain. When I am down, upset, angry or happy My Chemical Romance is always heard on my IPod. Seeing them in concert is probably the best thing that can happen to a fan. To be able to listen to all those songs that make you so happy and always make you feel that much better about yourself is such an amazing experience. Better yet, to be able to see the guys who have helped you so much throughout your life is such an unforgettable experience. This year My Chemical Romance has meant so much more for me than ever. In February my mom got diagnosed with breast cancer, and I needed all the support I could get. Listening to My Chemical Romance helped me feel better and be stronger for my mom. A month after I got “Awake and Unafraid” tattooed on my arm, because their music is so inspirational and helped me stay strong through such hard times. Six months after her diagnosis she is battling with her illness, but things are looking bright. If not for My Chemical Romance I don’t know how this year would have ended for me.
Knowing My Chemical Romance is going to be performing in my state makes so happy, because it is rare for us to get any shows. Therefore I want the chance to be Honda Civic Tour Fan Blogger. I am asking for the opportunity to see my favorite band and be able to write their performance. Writing a blog about them is way for me to thank them for always making fans feel safe and unafraid. I want the opportunity to turn this tragic and dreadful year into something special by seeing my favorite band perform in my state. I am also asking for the opportunity to live out my career choice and what better way to do it than by seeing my all time favorite band and heroes performing.
