Opening my eyes the next morning, I squinted as the harsh morning sun found its way inside through the cracked shades. Throwing my arms over my eyes, I let out a loud groan when I heard a heavy knock against my door. Sitting up, I ran a hand through my dishelved hair before rubbing my eyes with the palms of my hands.
"Come in." I said, voice cracking from the lack of use. Removing my hands off my eyes, I chuckled softly as Libby ran into the room and jumped on my bed.
"Morning sleepy head." Libby sang, her smile beaming at me.
"What time is it?" I slurred, voice thick with sleep as I went to grab my phone.
"10 in the morning." Libby shrugged, getting off my legs before lying down next to me. "I was up two hours ago but Daddy told me to let you sleep."
"Smart man." I nodded, ruffling Libby's hair before turning my attention to my phone.
"You got home late last night." Libby said, playing with the ends of her auburn hair before looking up at me.
"I was home before midnight." I gasped playfully, tickling Libby's sides.
"That's late." Libby pouted, wrapping her arm around my waist before resting her head on my chest. "I missed you."
"I missed you too little duck." I smiled, kissing Libby's forehead before closing my eyes.
"Who did you go out with last night?" Libby asked, letting out a tiny yawn.
"This boy I met." I said, not wanting to tell Libby just yet that I was talking to Harry Styles from One Direction.
"Is he cute?" Libby giggled, looking up at me with a large grin.
"The cutest." I nodded as a yawn escaped my lips. "You made me yawn."
"Sorry." Libby snorted, digging her head deeper in my chest as her eyes began to close.
"Melissa, honey, there's this boy outside claiming that he knows you." Mrs. Wright interupted, smiling softly at me before glancing at Libby then back to me.
"Okay, thanks." I nodded, looking down at Libby who had a small frown on her face. "Can you tell him I'll be there in five minutes?"
"Of course." Mrs. Wright smiled, leaving me and Libby alone in my room.
"I'm just going to see what he wants Lib but I promise you that tonight we will do whatever you want, okay?" I asked, getting out of the bed and pulling my hair into a bun ontop of my head.
"You promise?" Libby whispered, watching me as I zipped up at sweatshirt over my tank top and threw some flip flops on my feet.
"Pinky swear." I smiled, interlocking my pinky with Libby's before practically running down the stairs and out the door.
"Hi." I breathed, closing the door behind me when I noticed Harry sitting on the steps leading up to the front porch.
"Good morning." Harry greeted, smiling at me as I took a seat next to him. "I see that you're still wearing my sweatshirt."
"It's comfy." I shrugged, a smile of my own crossing my lips.
"It looks good on you." Harry nodded, placing his hands on top of his knees and lacing his fingers together. Staring off onto the quiet street ahead of us, I let out the breath I hadn't realized I've been holding and rubbed my fingers under my eyes to make sure that there was no leftover makeup there.
"So what made you come here at ten in the morning?" I asked, tucking my knees into my chest before resting my head on them.
"Honestly..." Harry started, glancing at me with a small smile. "I just had to see you."
"Oh." I nodded, a small blush crossing my cheeks as another yawn escaped my lips.
"I'm sorry if I woke you." Harry chuckled, obviously hearing my yawn.
"I was already awake." I shrugged. "Libby came in and woke me up before I knew you were here."
"I see." Harry nodded, grabbing my hand that was resting on the porch in both of his before placing a soft kiss on it. His eyes were focused on my hand as he thumb began to stroke the back of it. Closing his eyes, Harry let out a small sigh before he swallowed and opened his eyes to stare into mine. "I'm new at this."
"New at what?" I asked, unsure as to where this conversation was heading.
"This." Harry said, emphasizing his point by motioning between the two of us.
"What about 'this'?" I asked slowly, the fear of rejection regestering deep in my stomach.
"This feeling I get in my stomach whenever I'm around you or that fact that I have to know what you're thinking or doing." Harry explained, staring deep into my eyes with this intense look that made my bones go weak. "I feel this strong connection to you already and we've only known each for two days."
"I know what you're saying." I whispered, my eyes moving away from his stare to glancing down at our interlaced fingers.
"I don't know what I'm doing anymore." Harry continued, his voice strong and unwavering. "I've never felt this way about someone else anymore and it's scaring me. I'm not the relationship guy, you know? I'm the one who watches everything play out and enjoys being young. But then you come along and I'm scared shitless. What is this?"
"I don't know." I said softly, running my free hand through Harry's hair so that it wasn't falling in his eyes. "I don't know."
"What if I told you that I think I love you?" Harry whispered, taking a deep breath as I stared into his eyes. We met just earlier this week and went on one date and he's already in love with me. But am I in love with him? I began to chew down on my bottom lip as I began to think about the way he looks at me and how whenever he smiles at me my heart skips a beat. Was this love? I watched as Harry's eyes became distant, the fear of rejection flashing across his green eyes.
Taking a deep breath, I let out a shaky sigh before smiling softly at the man next to me. "I would say that I think I love you too."
Harry simply smiled at me before reaching out and running his thumb across my jaw. Stopping his path on my bottom lip, Harry glanced at my lips quickly before focusing them back on my eyes and took another deep breath.
"With your permission I'm going to kiss you now."
Nodding my head, my eyes fluttering shut as I felt Harry kiss my lips softly. Pulling away slowly, Harry cupped my face in his hands before telling me to open my eyes. Once my eyes were open, Harry smiled softy at me as he thumb began to roam in circles across my cheek.
"Be my girlfriend?" Harry whispered, raising his eyebrow at me in a teasing way.
"I guess." I sighed, rolling my eyes playfully before Harry kissed me again.
"I could get used to that." Harry groaned, pulling away with a large grin.
"Me too." I smiled, closing my eyes as Harry placed another kiss on my forehead.
