Chapter 4: Guitar Hero 2 Battle and A Visit from a Friend

Week 2 Sat 8:30


As usual, in the morning my alarm in my cell phone would ring. I got out of bed
brushed my teeth, washed my face, combed my hair, etc. After I was done I went downstairs to the kitchen and made two waffles, made hot chocolate and placed it in a thermos, and headed out the door. I then walked over to my car pulled out of the garage over to the driveway, I pressed a button in my remote control so that the garage door closed and the alarm in my house switched on. Then I pulled out onto the street and drove off.

It was a twenty minute drive until I arrived at the studio. I got out of the car
taking my waffle with me, I at one of them while I was driving, and my thermos which was now half filled with hot chocolate, and closed the car door locking it. Then I walked to the studio from the parking lot and went over to the recording room.

When I opened the door I saw Shads and the others waiting in their seats. ``Hey guys! I greeted happily. Everyone responded back with a 'hey!' or a 'hi!'

'`Waffles huh? Asked M. Shadows as he raised one of his eyebrows. He was wearing a plain white t-shirt, navy colored jeans, and black Vans.

"Yeah, this is my breakfast. Did Natalie come yet?''

``No, not yet.'' Said Zacky as he was tuning his guitar. He was wearing a Misfits sleeveless shirt, black colored jeans, and his Velcro shoes.

``Hmm… I'll call her to see what's up.'' Suddenly my phone rang, I looked at the screen on my phone to see Natalie's name on it. ``Speak of the angle.''

``Isn't it supposed to be devil?'' asked Gates as he took off his fedora hat. I just shrugged. Then Natalie answered the phone.

``Hey Jackie! Are you at the recording room?'' asked Natalie.

``Yeah. Where are you?''

``Stuck in traffic… I'll be there in around 45 minutes or so.''

``Okay . We'll wait for you at your office, and then when you get here we could start practicing.'' I paused, ``And while we are in your office we could ruin everything in your office.''

``No!'' Matt and the others were either smiling or chuckling since they found our little argument amusing.

``Geez, just kidding.'' I responded. ``Okay see you later.''

``Later.'' I closed my cell phone and put it in my pocket.

``We could just practice while we wait for Natalie to get here.'' said Gates.

``Or… We could play video games while we wait, if it's possible.'' said Johnny.

``Is it okay if the video game is Guitar Hero 2?'' I asked.

``Sure'' said Gates, ``I'll own you all!!!'' everyone laughed. Duh, of course he would! He's like the best guitarist around! I led everyone out of the recording to Natalie's office. I opened the cabinet underneath the T.V. pulled out two guitar controllers and handed one to Gates and the other on to Zacky. Then pressed the power button on the Playstation2 and turned on the T.V.

``Let's see who would win, Zacky or Gates?'' I challenged.

``Me!'' yelled Zacky.

``Hey, I said I'll own everyone.'' said Gates.

After one round and one rematch Gates was permanently declared the winner. ``You see I told you I own.'' said Gates.

``Yeah, but you didn't own everyone.'' argued Zacky.

``Hey you know what? Let's let Jackie go against Shads.'' said Rev. I shook my head from side to side.

``Come on just once Jackie, please? begged Johnny.

``I warned you. Don't blame me afterwards.'' I took the guitar and chose the song Misirlou. ``Shads you choose the difficulty.'' Shads chose Expert. ``Expert?'' I questioned.

``I play this game in Expert all the time.''

And now we were off the first set of notes came in and the battle began.

The results? Eh, heh, heh. Oh I warned them alright.

``I win!'' I cheered.

``I'll go against you next.'' said Rev.

After going against Rev, Johnny, and Zacky I was so far declared undefeated.

``Dude! Jackie's on a roll. Look, she's all concentrated on the game and she defeated four of us!'' exclaimed M. Shadows.

``I think she's on crack.'' laughed Zacky.

``My turn.'' said Gates as he happily took the guitar controller from Zacky.

I selected the song Jordan on Expert and another round began. The results… WE WERE TIED!

``What the freak? A tie? Gates, were you going easy on her?'' asked Johnny.

``No, I was trying to beat her the whole time.'' responded Gates.

Just then Natalie entered the room. The first thing she looked at was the tie score that Gates and I had. ``Wow a tie!'' complimented Natalie.

``She defeated four of us and she managed to get a tie with Gates!'' exclaimed Shads.

``Ha, ha, ha. That's her alright. She doesn't really play the game that much, but she's really good.'' Said Natalie, ``Anyway, Jackie, there's a friend of yours that wanted to say hi to you.''

``Who is it?'' I asked.

``You can come in.'' Natalie called out to the hallway. A girl with black hair entered the door, she was wearing a black tight-fitting shirt, a black mini skirt with a Misfits belt, purple and black stripped socks, and black shoes, and at that moment I instantly recognized that it was my friend Kim.

``Kim!'' I said happily.

``Bunny on Crack!'' Kim said happily, I went over to her and gave her a quick hug.

``Bunny on Crack?'' questioned Shads.

``Yeah, that's what my friends and I nicknamed Jackie.'' replied Kim.

``You see? You see? I was right! Jackie is on crack!'' Zacky was jumping up and down while pointing at me like a monkey. Kim and I just laughed.

``How in the world did you get that nickname anyway Jackie? Your not one crack.'' asked Rev. "…Or are you!"

``No I'm not. I got that nickname when I was in High School.''

``Yeah, every time she would come from hiking or playing basketball during Gym class she would always be happy and she would be jumping all over the place and she would always score basketball shots nx, and that's how she got her nickname.'' answered Kim. ``You guys should try playing against her basketball when she starts jumping around like a poor little bunny on crack.''

``That's not a problem. We could let her play against Shads.'' said Gates. ``He's really good at playing basketball. I'll bet she'll kick his behind once again!'' Gates chuckled as Shads mouthed the "F you" word to him.

``Wait Jackie, is this the band that is your favorite? What was their name again… Avenged Sevenfold?'' asked Kim.

``I'm lucky aren't I?''

``Really lucky…Wish I could be the manager or at least the manager's assistant of my favorite band. Look at the time, I got to get going. Bye Jackie, bye everyone!'' Kim exited the room. Everyone said goodbye to Kim as she exited the door.

"'I'm lucky aren't I?' Shads immitated, "So you consider yourself lucky, eh?" questioned M. Shadows making a sarcastic smile on his face.

"What?" Did I say something wrong or something? What's with his sarcastic smile anyway??

"Nothing…" sang M. Shadows as he happily walk passed me. Nudging me with his elbow as he got his lyric sheet and heading back to the recording room.

I was scratching the back of my head in confusion "Huh? Did I miss something?" Syn and the others just looked at each other for seconds then turned to me and shrugged.
