Gerard Way Has Joined the Party

We know that Gerard Way is a fan of comics, horror movies and 1979 Trans Ams.

Apparently, he is also a fan of classic Playstation role playing games .

Gerard has teamed up with Kyosuke Himuro, a Japanese rock star, on a song entitled "Safe and Sound" set to act as the ending theme for Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children Complete .

Not familiar with Final Fantasy 7? You're missing out! The game was released in 1997 for the Playstation and was the first game in the Final Fantasy series to be rendered in 3D. It also features a story that takes place in a futuristic dystopia, rather than the psuedo-medieval settings that were generally expected from the series. The story itself revolves around Cloud Strife, a pointy-haired mercenary, and his struggle to save the world while finding out who he really is. He, along with a collection of people he meets along the way, travel around the world, go into outer space, ride roller coasters and, if you're feeling like it, breed Chocobos.

The title has spawned a number of spin-offs, including a film that acts as the sequel. Called Advent Children , it takes place after the end of the game and answers some questions from the cliffhanger ending. It also features some awesome music and amazingly animated fight scenes, so you should totally check it out.
