(You guys, this week was hard. There are tons and tons of writers out there that are great, it was really and truly hard to pick just five. But rest assured, if your favorites didn't come up this week, they won't be overlooked. Keep making suggestions.)
Today's Writer is:
Hyperballad13!
We think she has what it takes to be a truly great writer. Passion, dedication, a teeny tiny bit of obsession, and imagination. And most importantly, character and substance. She is fearless, willing to excavate
desperation and
isolation (among other emotions), and not afraid to
start a discussion on subjects that effect girls and women in this confusing day and age.
Her poetry is ardent and genuine and delightful. Thanks for sharing it with us, Sarah.
The World Of Life And City Lights
I run through the world of life
Pounding hearts in cages gold
Vibrant skies above the lies.
All spark a fire passions told
The wind I dance in howling fast
And wraps around my bones
The days I died in turn to past
As I no longer dance alone.
Lips of rouge with budding taste
The ripest fruit upon a tongue.
Quickens breath without haste
A wicked spells been spun.
And under a curse on heavy skin
I praise the joys he gives.
The beauty that collects within
Paves a love to live.
Wishes born under the day
Strive with rays that beam
The sun kisses the hurt away
And wounds stitch up the seams.
This sweetest touch that caresses me
Turns to blurring eyes
And whirring space around my mind
Runs along with city lights

I Wish You Knew
This is a fortune of words
Each one stripped of meaning.
Instead I paint them with gold
With sparks to hide a secret feeling.
I am a crooked smile
The price you pay for a conscience
Guilt upon all of your bones
I hope your dollars were well spent
I wish you knew…
This is the lonely road home.
I walk without a sound
Just the breathing of my heart
As it struggles and starts to give out.
I am a winter verse
Frozen to the bone with each song.
Taking beats with footsteps
Praying that you would sing along
I wish you knew….
This is a photograph
Sliced to pieces with regret
Hiding each deep memory
In a place I tried my best to forget
I am a dying breed
Placing your old kisses in rows
The only comfort in sleep
A series of mistakes you’ll never know
I wish you knew…
This is an aching heart
Wrapping you around the veins
Coiled inside the vessels
I know you live you feed the pain
I am a runaway
Blurring the city lights as I race
My feet throb with the needing
To be warm inside your embrace
I wish you knew..
