We Got There In The End - Chapter 19

Alex G’s POV

As I was walking past The Cabs dressing room I could hear someone talking. I slowed down and stood next to the slightly open door and listened. I could definitely make out DeLeons voice, and I think the other voice was Joey, with the others occasionally speaking. I usually wouldn’t stand here and spy on them, but they had been acting really strange today and since I had nothing better to do, I decided to find out why.

“He needs to know” Joey, I think

“Disagree” DeLeon for sure

“She doesn’t want him to know. I say we respect that” pretty sure that was Dave. I started to get more interested now.

“Come on guys, he deserves to know. I mean if it was your girlfriend, wouldn’t you want to  know?” I stepped closer to the door at Joeys words. I knew they had to be talking about me now.

“Guys please? Just a few more days” Kenzie!

“Kenzie we fly out tomorrow, he’ll be there” Alex Marshall finally spoke. I had no idea what they were talking about, but I did know Kenzie was involved. I turned towards the door, about to barge in there and demand an explanation when it suddenly opened

“Alex!” Joey yelped pushing me into the hallway and pulling the door shut behind him. I could hear a few muffled “Shh’s” from inside as he began to talk. “What’s up man?”

“Uh nothing much, just stopping by to hang” I lied

“Oh well we’re about to head to a meet and greet, maybe later?” I could tell he was nervous

“Sure” I agreed casually and walked away.

I watched them leave and waited a few minutes longer – just to make sure they were gone for good – then snuck back to their dressing room. I didn’t know what they were hiding from me, but I know I heard Kenzies voice earlier. For the past few days, whenever I would call her, it would ring out, then five minutes later she’d send me a text message, saying she couldn’t answer. But it looked as though she took calls from these guys, so I was hoping one of them had left their phone in there and I could call her from it.

I quietly opened the door, just enough for me to squeeze through, then shut it just as quietly behind me. I looked around the room, noticing it was a lot neater than ours. Kenzie must have rubbed off on them, even while she wasn’t here, because they were about as messy as us.

I looked around, but couldn’t find a phone, not really surprising, they were all permanently glued to their phones. I was about to give up, when I heard a very familiar ringtone from the other side of the room. I rushed over to a door, and knowing it wasn’t the bathroom, I pushed the door open and froze when I saw Kenzie standing in front of me.
