We Got There In The End - Chapter 14

Alex G’s POV
“Oh hey” Alex nodded his head at me as he came from the back
“She doesn’t want to go does she?” I realised sadly
“Of course she does” he assured “you know girls, they take forever to get ready”
“I heard you yelling. She doesn’t” I argued
“She had a bit of a panic attack, but she’s good to go”
“Is she ok?” Joey asked before I could
“Guys, she’s fine. She’ll be out soon so just relax or you’ll freak her out again”
“So what’s she wearing?” I asked sitting down
“Your outfit is fine Alex” Joey laughed “Jack” he waved his phone at me when I stared at him “I think you’re as nervous as each other”
I kept looking towards the back of the bus, I could hear her moving around but as the time passed I started to worry she wasn’t going to come out at all. What seemed like an hour passed and I heard footsteps coming closer then stop. We all looked up and I stood up quickly when I saw her standing awkwardly in the doorway.
“I’m ready” her voice shook with nerves
“You look amazing” I complimented
“Thanks” she smiled “you look….”
“Underdressed?” I offered
“Great. I was going to say great”
“We should go” I stated, feeling everyone’s eyes on me. She nodded and walked closer. I let her pass me and I followed close behind her. I laughed when she stopped to lightly slap Alex Marshall when a low wolf whistle came from his lips.
“Have fun” Joey called and Kenzie waved without looking back, but three fingers and a thumb disappeared quickly, when Dave called “Be back by eleven” The others laughed at her response and in a few more steps we were off the bus.
“I’m sorry about them” she apologised
“It’s ok. I’ve had years to get used to them”
“Oh right. You’ve been friends for ages” she rubbed her arm
“C’mon, lets get out of here” I put my hand on the small of her back and led her to the car I’d borrowed for the night. I held the door for her, then walked to my side of the car. I looked back at the bus and saw all the guys – all except DeLeon – pressed against the window watching us.
“Ready?” I asked starting the car
“Yep” she buckled herself up and looked out the windscreen.
