I can't believe another month has gone by. Just yesterday I had to remind myself to post this blog or else I would have forgotten. I've become so busy that I just don't remember much. This month started off on the rocks for me. I started my job at Wild Water Kingdom, actually as a cashier. It's been an interesting experience. Some people you can handle, but other's are just a tick away from being hit in the nose. I had one of those today. He refused to wait in the line just because he was returning his tube. I do both in the line sell and return them & he thought my sorry was bullshit. He was an asshole. I just gave him his money back and it was settled. At least some people understand. Well that was a long rant. 

Well other than working two jobs I've done some things:

I started corking again. Though I haven't gotten around to doing much since I started this 4 weeks ago :p

I also ate really amazing cupcakes while watching Cake Boss :D

Ok, no onto my aweome finds of the month! :D

The Avengers: Starring The Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Hawk Eye, and Thor. Can a movie get a more epic then that? With the force of all combined they must come together, even if they don’t want to, and beat Loki who wanted to conquer earth. This movie is one of the only movies that really does well in 3D. The effects felt like you could reach out and touch the objects that came flying at you. The movie was very comedic and had a lot of laugh out loud moments. If you haven’t had the chance to go out and see it, you should before time runs out! Definitely a nerdy and comic book, but also action withy as well. 

Life of Pi By: Yann Martel: The life of a young boy by the name of Pi Patel and his journey though the sea. When him and his family are to move to Canada from India all goes wrong. The boat that they were on sinks, and Pi is a survivor as he battles his way through the sea with a tiger on board a lifeboat. It’s a story worth reading about, a story that never gets dull, though it may make you feel a little tired, but you’ll read to figure out his way of surviving. The book is filled with insights to religion and how that can help you. Definitely worth the read, it’s told in first person narrative with some chapters in the point of view from the author to give insight to Pi’s life now.

Lisey’s Story By: Stephen King: Bools, ghouls, and things that go bump in the night. Lisey a widow for two years is now only going through her husband’s things, as he was a famous writer, and what she finds as she does is things she doesn’t want to remember, but she has to in order to save herself, and save her sister. There was a good plot, and a great story, but the story seemed to drag on and on, it got really dry along the way many times and it didn’t really need to be 500 pages, the book could have been 300 and it still would have been really good. The pretty words didn’t help the story, but dragged the story, not something to read a second time.

8 Mile: The story of the little rapper from Detroit, Eminem. Through his struggles and all. The film is based on the life of him, the rapper trying to make it out of a trailer park to make a life for himself. The film has a great meaning behind it and was entertaining at moments but overall it just failed at keeping an attention span.  Fighting and rapping were most of the film, and it was used authentically to show what it was like. But for two hours that being the whole film it had no substance. The touch with adding a little girl to the mix made it interesting, and showed the good side of Eminem.

 The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon By: Stephen King: Nine year old Trisha is tired of the arguments between her brother and mother, and so one day when they go out on their usual Saturday morning adventures, Trisha strays off the path. What happens you stray off a trail path? You get lost, that’s what. She finds herself in situations she rather not be in for a nine year old. She uses her radio to help her stay in touch with the real world and with her hero the baseball player, Tom Gordon. The book also gives a good insight to saying, “the world has teeth and it can bite you”. This book was a nice simple and short story by Stephen King. It compelled you to read on to see if she would get rescued to see if she would be left for dead, or if her hero would really come.

Under The Dome By: Stephen King: The town of Chester Mill’s is under a dome, a freak thing that no one can explain. Go too close and it could kill you! Things got ugly between the town, where they start to go against each other in fear that they may never get out from under the dome. The book was based on the whole town and everyone had a story, after a while it gets tiring with all the subplots. The end, when the dome comes up could have been a better ending, though it was really crafty how he set it up. There were very many characters that confused you after you got around 300-500 pages in, but as you got farther it got simpler. If you’re into books with a big cast then this will be a good book. This book could be turned into a TV show.

27 Dresses: Staring Katherine Heigl. Her character Jane has been a brides maid 27 times, when will it be here time to shine at her own wedding? Well not soon she thinks as her sister is going to marry the man she has been in love with, or is she really in love with him? The movie is honestly hilarious but is annoying at times. The typical girl pretends to like everything the guy she’s seeing likes. It wouldn’t be the movie without the annoying sister anyways. But in the end everything turns out happily ever after with a beautiful wedding and all of her brides maids are there.

Paper Towns By: John Green: Margo Roth Spiegelman. One girl, an entire mission. After having the craziest night of his life Quentin “Q” Jacobson is on a mission. The next day Margo is missing, ran away again. She has left clues to where she may be hiding, but everything Q tries just doesn’t seem to sound like something Margo would do. The book is not only about finding the girl, it’s about finding out who she is. Finding out why you like a certain person. We all have ideas about who people are from afar and what we think of them, this book brings that out and shows that what we think is not always right. A very interesting read about finding out about people and finding out that people are a lot different up close then they are afar.

The Rocket Summer: Life Will Write The Words: The album starts off with Run and Don’t Stop where Bryce Avery starts out in a grunt. It’s vey poppy and entertaining, and the lyrics are meaning full but the album doesn’t start until you hit the song 200, 000. It starts off with a fun piano beginning and breaks into the chorus that was definitely made for summer, and is so hard not to love. It’s a fun song to sing along to as well. Old Love is a really cute song where he’s singing about his grandfather’s love and how he wants to love that way. Underrated is a great song that makes you feel alive. The song starts real slow and dark, but as you break into the chorus it breaks the darkness. Soldiers is an acoustic track that is soft, and is sung about God. The Rescuing Type is a fun dance-y track. The album ends with Ashes Made of Spades, which is a great rock song that shows Avery’s vocals. Is it truly an album to listen to and love.
