So, you may remember the sad, strange tale of Jessi Slaughter, a situation that proved that 11-year-olds with anger problems shouldn't be allowed on the internet and that 4-Chan will, in fact, bully anyone if provoked enough. It was a situation where no one involved in any way looked good. Not Jessi, not the 4-Chan and Tumblr users who attacked her and even issued her death threats, not Blood on the Dancefloor and not her father.
And if you followed this story, this should come as no surprise: Papa Slaughter has been busted for child abuse, according to The Smoking Gun.
Gene Leonhardt, 53, was busted for striking his daughter Jessica, who told Florida cops that she had been arguing with her father when he “punched her, causing her to have a bloody and swollen lips.”
A deputy at the sherrif's department have said “I did see that just inside the victim’s mouth on the right side were minor cuts which would be consistent with the victim’s statement. I also saw blood on the victims mouth and chin area," and a neighbor claimed to have heard shouting and saw Jessi run from her house bleeding, so everything sounds consistent with her story. However, Leonhardt has plead "not guilty" to the charge, claiming that Jessi was wearing "theatrical blood." He does admit to slapping the child, but claimed that she punched him first.
Okay, going out on a limb here, but, you're a 53-year-old man. You're telling me that an 11-year-old girl who looks like she weighs all of 90 lbs. hit you so hard that your only choice was to retaliate by smacking her so hard that she bled?
There were reports during the entire Jessi Slaughter saga last year alleging that Leonhardt had abused Jessi, but nothing came of it at the time.
If all of this is true, and it seems to be, Jessi's violent attitude and rhetoric begin to make a BIT more sense.
