Kay and Grace and I decided we would do our nails and take photos for you to see!  You will have a good laugh at our blunders!

We put the little boys in strollers and walked to the nearby Family Dollar (the only store in Pellston) to check out the nail polish, and choose a color for each of us!

The selection wasn't great, but it was inexpensive!  We did quite well painting out left hands because we are all right handed!  Well Kay is Ambidextrous, so hers look pretty darn good on both hands!

We will start with her!  She decided to go with the flourescent colors by Sinful Colors!  I am not sure if she used a top coat !  I have to say they look really good !

I was stupid and bought some crackle polish that I was really excited about trying!  So I painted my nails black first with Sally Henson, and let them dry!  Then I put on the crackle (which I paid quite a bit for) and it looked horrible!  It wasn't pink at all like the bottle!  It was dull and flat and just ewwww!!!  So I removed it!  No matter how hard I worked at it, I couldn't get all the black off the edges!  Thank goodness I had only done one hand!  I didn't have another color of my own with me, so I borrowed Grace's fuschia by Sinful Colors !  I topped it with a shiney top coat by Sally Henson!  Check these babies out!  They don't match! hehe

Grace debated for quite awhile about what she wanted to do!  She settled on black by Sally Hensen!  She topped hers with an Avon Top Coat!  Here is her result !

Just over night, mine have mostly pealed off from washing my hands!  Help me out fashionistas and nail experts, how do I get the polish to last !  Grace's has some chips, but is much better than mine!  I was thinking that the Avon top coat was better quality then the Sally Henson!  Please give us advice!  We want to get much better at this!  However we do have a budget!  We can't buy Chanel polsih unfortunately!  Here is what it looks like this morning and this is the "good" hand!

I know polish doesn't last forever and that it needs maintenance, but this just seems strange!  Please let me know what you all do!  I hope you had a good laugh at our beginners results!  With your help, we will soon be showing you success!  I have to say thank you to Meghan93/izshkabobula for giving me the idea to start painting my nails, and for starting a nail group where we can all show off our success and our defeats!
