My Recap of the 2011 Golden Globes
It's award show season! First off, let me start by saying--I love award shows. I watch them all. I watch the red carpets. I get happy for certain winners like I know them personally or something.
Last night was the Golden Globe awards at the lovely Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles (where I stayed on a vacation in 2008--great hotel, especially the pool area. Check it out if you're in the area!).
Here's a recap of some of my favorite GG moments from last night.
I'm a big Modern Family fan. I really loved Sarah Hyland's beige Max Azria dress. I think she looked totally age appropriate and classy. I read here that her necklace was worth $600,000!

Another Modern Family actor I loved seeing was Julie Bowen. She was hilarious as Ryan Seacrest interviewed her. She also opted for the beige/champagne color dress and although I didn't love the style of it completely, I still thought she looked gorgeous. Her dress was by Tadashi Shoji.

I also thought E!'s Giuliana Ransic looked stunning in her black Zac Posen gown. Simple and elegant.

Photographer Casey Rodgers snapped this great picture of Glee's Dianna Agron and Naya Rivera after Glee won Best TV Series-Comedy. Again--more of dresses this color! Sensing a trend.

The whole cast of Glee had me smiling (and actually almost crying) when Chris Colfer won Best Supporting Actor. They all just looked so genuinely happy and although I thought this season of Glee had some off moments, it continues to be refreshing to see a realistic High School program based on the "misfits" and honest teenage moments.

The award winners seemed to be spread over a multitude of films and programs this year. The much talked about film The Social Network won Best Picture-Drama and The Kids Are All Right won Best Picture-Comedy. Each had a few more wins in other categories as well. Christian Bale and Melissa Leo won for The Fighter and Natalie Portman's crazed ballerina role landed her a win as well.
Glee and Boardwalk Empire walked away with a few Globes. A lot of the other television wins were for shows I haven't seen much of like Sons of Anarchy, The Big Bang Theory, and The Big C. But after something wins it definitely makes me want to check it out even more. Up next when I'm home with time to kill? Boardwalk Empire.
And that's it. Up next--The Academy Awards! Nominations are announced on the 25th and the show will take place on February 27th.
