A lot happened in Fashion this past year, some of it good, some of it bad, and some of it sad. Here's a round-up of the top five biggest fashion moments of 2010.
1. Alexander McQueen Dies
On Februay 12th the fashion world was shaken by the news of the death of designer Alexander McQueen. One of the true visionaries of the fashion world, elevated his design to art and found fans and friends in the likes of Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Daphne Guinness, Sarah Jessica Parker, and more. No one will ever be able to take a breath away with a dress quite like he could.

2. Lara Stone: the Year's Biggest Model
Lara Stone was everywhere this year, with campaigns for Calvin Klein, DKNY, and Diesel, and on the covers of iD, W, Vogue, Interview and many others. She was also on the cover of French Vogue as well as the only model to be featured inside the magazine in that issue. Known for her curves and unique look, Stone started a trend and now gap-toothed blonde models are all over the place.

3. Lady Gaga and Her Meat Dress
Ever demure, Lady Gaga showed up to accept her award for "Video of the Year" for "Bad Romance" at the MTV Video Music Awards this year in a dress made entirely of raw meat designed by Franc Fernandez. It looked gross, but hey, people talked about it for weeks.

4. Alexa Chung Emerges As Fashion's New It-Girl
Even though she's been quoted as saying she hates the term, it's indisputable that Alexa Chung is definitely an It-Girl. The British beauty has been making waves with her quirky, individualistic style, and has a legion of girls wanting to look just like her. Cult brand Mulberry even named a bag after her, and the Alexa has proven to be one of its most popular styles. We won't lie, we're pretty into her ombre hair and nerd chic too.

5. Carine Roitfeld "Resigns" From French Vogue
The fashion world's stiletto-shod feet went into a tailspin this week when Carine Roitfeld announced that after ten years with the magazine, she would be resigning as Editor-In-Chief of French Vogue. The announcement came as such a shock to even her closest employees and confidantes that there is much speculation that she was actually fired from the publication, for "bad taste" and inapporpriate business dealings. Either way, the creative, talented Roitfeld will be missed, and it's anyone's guess who will be able to fill her thigh-high boots.
