10) King of King - Fistful of Quarters
One of two documentaries on my top 10 list for 2007, this is such a sleeper hit and, ultimately, a movie that is magical.
Yes, I know. I just used the word "magical" to describe a movie. Seriously, this movie is absolutely incredible. Back in 1982, Billy Mitchell, deemed Gamer of The Century, set the Guiness World Record for Donkey Kong in front of 20 of his peers: 874,300 points. IN ONE GAME.
Fast forward to 2003. Steve Wiebe loses his job at Boeing. After his wife and kids go to bed, he plays Donkey Kong each night, perfecting his skills. Realizing how good he is, he sets out to beat Mitchell's record.
What you get to watch is a cross-country duel that is so nerdy, so epic, and so heartwarming that you're left feeling wonderful. The characters exist on such opposite ends of the spectrum and the competitive vibe really has you cheering.
Trust me, watch this movie when you get a chance. The ending is SO AWESOME. SO SO SO SO SO AWESOME.
