February 24, 2007: One Of The Most Happiest Days Of My Life

I posted this by accident on the wrong place, so I'm posting it again:

On Saturday, The Black Parade Tour hit CT, which isn't shown up, but I'll recap.
We waited in line for about two hours to then find out that we had to switch lines, getting in was one of the fastest line's I've gone through there.
The line to the pit was horrendous, luckily though, it went fast with the ticket punching and wristbands.
The show started at about 7:30, Rise Against was amazing and their visuals were even better.
Then came the long run; waiting for MCR. I've been a fan of theirs since the beginning, but I've never seen them live, my patience was running thin.
Out came Gerard in a stretcher and nurses, and the best part was, it was really realistic, he even had the IV fluids on the side.
He stepped off the stretcher and walked to the front of the stage where he stripped off his hospital gown to reveal his Black Parade uniform which at this time, the curtain was drawn.
CT was the first show to actually have the set available, it was a wicked set. I looked over to the side and could see the blimps for “Welcome to the Black Parade”, I was stoked already.
Bob was on a 6 foot riser which made it so everyone could see him, it rotated so he got spun around a couple of times.
Anyways, they went through song after song of the Black Parade album, confetti was shot at us during “Welcome to the Black Parade” and there were also firecrackers and flames.
My favorite songs that I heard them play live were “This Is How I Disappear”, “House of Wolves”, “Cancer”, “Teenagers”, and “Disenchanted”.
“Cancer” was one of the most intense songs I think they played live. I was amazed at how it affected everyone in the pit; I don’t think I saw anyone moshing at this part. “I Don’t Love You” got pretty much the same reaction, but it was just a little less intense than “Cancer”.
After “Famous Last Words”, Gerard announced that MCR would be next so we were left in the dark again. During this little intermission, they played the album version of “Blood” which was pretty cool to see how many people knew it.
The whole concert was amazing, I really love it that Gerard gave props to all of us in the MCRmy too.
Even though they all seemed a little bit out of it, it was one of the best nights in my life. The band is amazing live, and Gerard’s mannerisms are something to make you laugh, especially when he burped during the beginning of Mama.
They ended the concert with Helena which I thought was best suited and they played about 6 or 7 songs from the Revenge album, sadly none from Bullets.
On the shirt it says that their supposed to be coming back in May and if that show is going to be anything like Saturday’s, then I’m definitely looking foreword to going again.

when i saw mcr in chicago, it was weird. I was looking for the south gate and thought i found it. i was actually at the north gate. i was getting frustrated cause i was going to have to go back through all the kids buying their t-shirts and stuff. some security guard pointed me in the direction of the south gate. It was a circular venue, and I went where he pointed. I got to a gated off area and some lady said i couldn't go past there. She was pretty insistant, but so was i. i told her the security guard told me to go this way. she looked perplexed but i went on through. I was back stage and no one said a word to me. i wondered around, the doors were open and i could see the buses. a crowd of workers were with their boss and he was doing a "great job everyone, lets give us all a hand." They were all happy and clapping. no one said a word to me. i saw the stage hands, and some guys in black that were probably the guys, but i thought about how i was invading the back stage area. im not too nervy, so i scurried on my way like a good fan, and went on through to the south gate. im pretty low key any way and thought. my point is, if you are ALONE and wait til most of the crowd is gone, the security and workers are really nice. I wasn't all punked-out in MCR attire. i actually looked like i was...well, jeans, old cowboy boots, a gray hoody, just average. i have only told one person about this, the girl i was at the concert with-we got separated during the concert. i figure this retains my anonimity enough. just seeing the concert was enough for me. it was incredible as is MCR> have fun, you'll be truly amazed. they put on more than a concert, it was a DAMN VAUDVILLE/ROCK-N-ROLL SHOW!

actually, Ive got to agree with ooherewego.. if you act half way normal and dont like, fangirl spazum or anything, you can get backstage and you can get a decent attempt at meeting the guys.
I met up with them not too long ago, at first everything was crazy, there were merch fans and their guard wasnt happy, then the fans went away and everything died down but I was still there and everything went down nicely.
I was dressed in plain clothing and (get this) heels, lmao, i NEVER wear heels, and they treated me as I treated them. Pretty normal. Im still stoked at how normal they were.

Did anyone go to Projekt Revolution? My friend said that mcr were gonna go there. I wanted to go but my mom said I needed to have my sister go with me. Plus I had no money to get it with.
