5. Radiohead: Kid A

The cover art of Radiohead's amazing Kid A is a reflection of the war in Kosovo in winter 1999, prior to the album's release, in the form of a computer rendering of a mountain range with pixelated distortion done by Donwood and Tchock (an alias for Thom Yorke) and gives the feeling of a desolated landscape with an impending doom. At the time Kid A came out, it was avant garde piece as most rock bands were relying heavily on "shock rock" imagery and less on the art of the cover.
