Homemade Cakes That Are Prettier Than I’ll Ever Be, And Some That Need To Go Back To Pastry School

There’s a saying that goes “cooking is an art and baking is a science,” and as an amateur baker, that couldn’t be more true. Some cakes are so stunning that they’re just too beautiful to eat and should instead be framed on a wall like a piece of art.

But for every one cake that is a masterpiece, there is another cake that looks like the person who decorated it was blindfolded and/or intoxicated. Some things should just be left to the pros.
