Zoe Kravits Lands Catwoman Role In ‘The Batman’

As if we weren't excited enough for the upcoming DC Comics The Batman, we've finally found out who will play one of the most iconic Batman characters. The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Zoe Kravitz will play Selina Kyle a.k.a Catwoman.

Director Matt Reeves also seemingly confirmed the news when he tweeted a gif of Kravitz saying "Hello?" on October 14th. Catwoman is one of the series' most iconic villains, who also acts as a love interest to the caped crusader. Fans are already excited about how Robert Pattinson, who was cast as Batman, and Kravitz's onscreen chemistry will play out.

Kravitz has some experience in the roll already as she previously voiced Catwoman in the recent The Batman Lego Movie. It's extra special for her to land this role in Reeve's version of the movie as she was denied a chance for the previous film, The Dark Night Rises. She told Nylon Magazine in 2015 that she was denied an audition for a role in the film because they weren't "going urban" for the film.

The iconic character was played by Michelle Pfeiffer in 1992's Batman Returns, Anne Hathaway in The Dark Night Rises and most notably Halle Berry in the 2004 Catwoman solo film.

The film doesn't open until June 25th, 2021, so we have quite a lot of time to anticipate how she and Pattinson will do in their roles. Now, all we need to know is who is going to play the big villain.
