Overweight Thor Could Be Here To Stay For The Upcoming Movie

One of the biggest surprises that came out of Avengers: Endgame was Chris Hemsworth's character, Thor, becoming the superhero version of Lebowski. Hemsworth was not his usual chiseled self during the movie as he filmed most of the movie wearing a fat-suit to make Thor overweight due to "letting himself go." Whether you liked this change or not, overweight Thor could be here to stay.

For the upcoming film Thor: Love and Thunder, director Taika Waititi says the god of thunder could remain the same from Endgame.

"This is an ongoing debate that we're still having at Marvel. Cause we're trying to figure out how long, how many months or years, this is after Endgame. At what point does this take place?" said Waititi.

Hemsworth has said in past interviews that he enjoyed playing "fat Thor" in the Avengers final movie.

"I enjoyed that version of Thor. It was so different than any other way I played the character. And then it took on a life of its own," Hemsworth told Variety. Many fans loved overweight Thor as it gave Hemsworth the chance to play around with the more comedic side of the buff superhero.

The fourth installment of the Thor series will also see Natalie Portman reprise her role as Jane Foster, who will gain superpowers this time around. The film is currently set to be released in November 2021.
