Nick Jonas Will Join ‘The Voice’

Calling out all Jonas Brothers fans: Nick Jonas will soon be on your TV screens on a weekly basis! The 27-year-old singer announced on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that he will be joining the 2020 season of The Voice.

On October 7th Jonas announced he would be replacing Gwen Stefani as a coach on the 18th season of the singing competition. He will join singers Blake Shelton, John Legend, and Kelly Clarkson.

In a prerecorded video clip shared by DeGeneres, Shelton shared his congratulations to Jonas and also poked some fun at his age.

"I wanted to, first of all, say congratulations, I guess. But second of all, I wanted to voice some concerns that I have. I'm going to have to look through the rules because this is my TV show. I’m not even sure if you’re old enough to be a coach on The Voice."

Clarkson also recorded a video clip saying that she and Jonas should form an alliance as they're both from Texas. Legend also chimed in saying that the three of them should all form an alliance in an effort to "destroy Blake Shelton," which Jonas seemed to take a liking to.

"Just to be clear, Blake, I'm going to kick your a--," said Jonas. "I think Kelly’s point about forming an alliance might make sense, and John, I love you, but we need a side conversation to figure some things out."

Being a coach on The Voice must run in the family as his brother Joe Jonas used to be one on the Australian version of the show. Maybe one day we'll see all the brothers on the show for some friendly, family competition. One can only dream...
