Nobody Asked For A Sixteen-Foot-Long Ed Sheeran Statue, Yet Here We Are

A 16-foot-long Ed Sheeran statue popped up almost overnight in Moscow, Russia.

If you tour Gorky Park in Moscow, you'll come face-to-face with an enormous Ed Sheeran lying seductively in wait. But instead of being entirely bronze like most statues, this one is in full color, red hair and all. The artists poured meticulous detail into his tattoos and graffiti-splattered t-shirt.

The statue is the result of a collaboration between Warner Music Russia and Yandex Music to promote Sheeran's upcoming concert there. The singer-songwriter performed at Moscow's Otkritie Arena on Friday, July 19th.

This isn't the first time Ed Sheeran inspired artists to erect a statue. In 2016, artists created a sculpture of Ed Sheeran as a pig, named "Ed Sheer-Ham." The plaid-wearing, red-haired pig appeared in Ipswitch, near Sheeran's hometown of Framlingham.

Fans have shown full support for both statues, joking that Sheeran won't feel lonely in either location.
