Taylor Swift And Katy Perry Finally Agree In “You Need To Calm Down”

The long-standing feud between Katy Perry and Taylor Swift ended in Taylor's newest music video, "You Need To Calm Down."

Taylor Swift released her music video "You Need to Calm Down" on June 14th, the perfect month considering that plenty of people are celebrating Pride. The song illustrates how people should accept each other for who they are.

For her second song on the album Lover, Taylor included a ton of big names, including Ellen DeGeneres, Adam Lambert, Ciara, and Ryan Reynolds, to name a few. And, of course, Katy Perry showed up to hug it out with Taylor.

The two pop stars had previously fought in one of the biggest feuds in the past decade, more intense than the Taylor vs. Kanye West fiasco. In December 2013, two of Taylor's backup dancers left her Red Tour to join Katy's Prismatic World Tour because they loved working with her. A year later, Taylor mentioned that Katy "did something so horrible" to Rolling Stone, and claimed that "we're just straight up enemies." From there, everything went downhill until 2019.

Fans were undoubtedly surprised to see the two pop stars hugged it out in "You Need to Calm Down." Katy even dressed as a hamburger and Taylor as fries--what's more loving than that?

Later, Katy posted cookies on Instagram with "peace at last" written on the plate with frosting. "Feels good," she mentioned and tagged Taylor Swift. After five years, the Swift-Perry battle has finally ended.
