As his name implies, J-Hope is offering hope to low-income students in need.

The BTS star recently donated 100 million won (about $84,000) in scholarship money to Choontae Academy, an educational foundation. In turn, Choontae Academy will offer the donation to students of Jeonnam Girls’ Commerical High School as a 500,000 won scholarship (about $420) to ten students every year.

For five years, ten low-income students with excellent grades and amazing conduct will receive the scholarship.

“I’ll focus on my studies,” one student who received the J-Hope scholarship said. “And after finding employment at a public institution, I also want to donate scholarships to my alma mater for my juniors.”

This isn’t the first time the BTS star donated to students facing difficulties. In December 2018, J-Hope gave 150 million won (about $126,200) to ChildFund Korea. On his birthday, he donated 100 million won (about $84,000) to low-income students attending his alma mater.

BTS’s “Love Yourself: Speak Yourself” tour is still traveling the world. But despite his busy schedule, J-Hope always finds time to donate to children in need.
