Stars Dressed Up As Each Other For Halloween And It’s Pure Gold
They say that imitation is the best form of flattery, so celebrities must be flattered all the time when regular, non-famous people choose to dress like them for Halloween. But what about when celebrities dress up as each other? We love seeing this because it only proves that deep down, celebrities are just like us. Of course, they have the resources to pull off these looks way better than a “regular” person can and the results are pretty epic.
Adele Will Always Love Dolly Parton
Adele dressed up as the legendary Dolly Parton in early 2018. Adele makes for an incredibly convincing version of the country crooner dressed in a pink studded jacket and feather boa. She completed the look with a guitar, blue eyeshadow, and of course, Dolly’s huge blonde hair!
Adele posted this picture, writing in the caption: “We wish we could possess an ounce of your ability. You were the hero of our night! A hero of my life. I’ll always love you.”
Beyoncé And Blue Ivy Paid Homage To The Jacksons
For Halloween 2014, Beyoncé dressed up as Janet Jackson in “Rhythm Nation.” Queen Bey did a mommy-daughter ensemble that year, completing the look by dressing up infant Blue Ivy as Michael Jackson in a military jacket the “Beat It” singer has been known to wear. Beyoncé and Blue wore these outfits to Power 105.1’s Powerhouse event wher Jay-Z performed that year.
The Carters have been known to dominate Halloween every year, so the accuracy of these costumes honestly doesn’t surprise us. We wouldn’t expect anything less!
That Time Lautner Channeled Lochte
Taylor Lautner dressed up as Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte for Matthew Morrison’s 7th Annual Halloween and Birthday party in 2016. Lautner’s look was complete with fake gold medals, goggles, and blue-ish hair. Coincidentally, he ran into fellow actress Nina Dobrev, who also dressed as Lochte that year.
Everyone remembers the big events of the Olympic Games at Rio de Janeiro that summer. Lochte had falsely claimed that he and his friends were held at gunpoint. The lie led to a 10-month suspension from swimming.
Katy Perry’s Last Minute Reminder Of Who To Vote For
Katy Perry always goes all out for Halloween, but when she dressed up as Hillary Clinton we were all still pretty shocked. The shock came from how convincing Perry’s costume turned out, complete with prosthetics and blonde wig! The “Roar” singer enjoyed a martini as a team put the finishing touches on her costume for Kate Hudson’s Annual Halloween Party in 2016.
Perry captioned the photo with “#IMWITHME” since the “i’m with her” movement was prevalent at the time (before Clinton ultimately lost the election.)
Kylie Jenner Wanted To Get Dirrty
In 2016, Kylie Jenner went 14 years into the past and dressed as Christina Aguilera in “Dirrty.” Jenner pulled out all the stops for this look, right down to the dirty blonde wig, nose piercing, and chaps. The reality star must have a good memory, since she was only five years old when the song came out.
“Can I be XTINA forever,” Jenner captioned one post. Aguilera was clearly flattered, reposting Kylie’s photos to her own account and saying, “Killin it @kyliejenner yes to dirrty 2016!”
Demi Lovato Dressed As A Famous Fellow Texan
In 2017, Demi Lovato dressed up as the late Tejano music queen, Selena Quintanilla. A lot of celebrities dressed up as Selena during this time – who post-humously received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame that year – but Lovato’s version probably takes the cake.
Both Lovato and Quintanilla hail from Texas, so this look really hit close to home for the “Heart Attack” singer. Lovato wore a sparkly purple flared jumpsuit, complete with a red lip and a dark wig with big bangs.
Mario Lopez And His Son Are Elvis And “Mini-Elvis”
Mario Lopez and his son both dressed up as Elvis Presley for Halloween 2015. Lopez, of course, was dressed for the occasion to host Extra. For that episode in particular, Lopez brought on an adorable, mini co-host to help carry the show.
Both father and son donned large aviator sunglasses and white, blinged-out jumpsuits that Elvis made famous. They even went so far as to slick their hair back just like the King himself!
Meredith Viera Went Full Gaga For The Today Show
Meredith Viera dressed up as Lady Gaga for Halloween of 2010 during an episode of The Today Show. Viera looked almost unrecognizable as she put on a blonde and yellow wig and had her makeup done to look just like Gaga’s. The TV host imitated Gaga’s galactic look from the 2010 Grammy Awards.
The dress was originally designed by Armani Privé and came complete with a star ornament that Gaga had to hold. We’d sayToday’s wardrobe department did an excellent job at replicating it!
This Look Wasn’t As Shocking By The Time Miley Wore It
Miley Cyrus channeled rapper Lil’ Kim for Halloween 2013. Lil’ Kim certainly caused a stir when she originally wore a purple gown and pastie to the 1999 MTV VMA’s. But by 2013, Cyrus had done everything she could to tarnish her Disney image with success, which is why we weren’t as shocked when she shared this accurately fabulous look.
In fact, many people praised Cyrus for going that far, even Lil’ Kim herself, who told MTV, “She did me very well.”
Rachel Zoe And Her Beau Got Each Other
Rachel Zoe and her investment banker hubby Rodger Berman channeled Sonny and Cher for Halloween in 2013. They dressed themselves up in ’70s-inspired clothes, while Zoe put on a long, dark wig and Berman put on a mustache.
They might not have been the exact outfits that the duo wore in the past, but achieving a ’70s look isn’t hard work for Zoe. In her career as a stylist, Zoe pioneered the “boho-chic” look that includes wearing oversized jewelry and loose-fitting clothes on a thin frame.
Paris Hilton Dressed Up As Miley Cyrus
In 2013, Paris Hilton dressed up as Miley Cyrus for Halloween. Hilton reportedly spent $5,000 at Trashy Lingerie in West Hollywood for a replica of the teddy bear outfit Miley Cyrus wore for her performance at that year’s MTV VMA’s.
The hotel heiress reportedly wore this outfit to the annual Halloween party held at the Playboy Mansion. She completed the look with red heart-shaped sunglasses and even managed to find one of those ridiculous foam fingers from the performance.
The Kardashians Aim For Iconic
In 2017, the elder Kardashian sisters dressed up as Michael Jackson and Madonna at the 1991 Oscars. On the left is Kourtney dressed as the “Thriller” singer and on the right, Kim is dressed as the blonde pop icon.
Madonna attended the 63rd Academy Awards, where she performed “Sooner or Later,” which won Best Original Song that year. Madonna invited Jackson as her date and in 2018, she looked back on the night as her “best date ever.”
Miranda Kerr Likes It Hot
Miranda Kerr went for a classic look and dressed up as Marilyn Monroe for Halloween in 2015. Of all of Marilyn’s classic looks, Kerr opted for the bombshell’s appearance in 1955’s The Seven Year Itch. Kerr got the look down to a tee, with her white halter dress and pearls.
But what really sealed the deal with this look is the blonde wig and the red lip. Kerr looks nearly identical to Marilyn Monroe!
Live! With Kim And Kanye (Sort Of)
On Live! With Kelly And Michael, hosts Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan always dress up for Halloween. In 2014, they decided to dress up as Kim Kardashian and Kanye West getting married.
Real-life Kimye tied the knot that year in Italy and was one of the most talked about events of 2014. Ripa wore a replica of Kim’s Givenchy wedding gown and Strahan’s interpretation of Kanye’s wedding look left little to the imagination. Of course, you can’t pretend to be Kim with out some… assets.
Nina Dobrev Makes A Great Victoria Beckham
Nina Dobrev dressed up as Victoria Beckham for Halloween 2015. Dobrev and her friends attended Matthew Morrison’s Halloween Party that year as the Spice Girls, although Dobrev went for a more recent version of Posh Spice.
People couldn’t believe how convincing Dobrev looked as the British fashion designer. It’s not a hard look to pull off either. Just find yourself a wig cut in an asymmetrical bob, a little black dress, black heels, and maybe some oversized sunglasses.
Zendaya Payed Homage To Her Idol
In 2013, Zendaya attended a Halloween charity event dressed as Aaliyah. The late R&B princess became a model for Tommy Hilfiger in 1996 – the same year Zendaya was born.
The following year, Zendaya was slated to star in a Lifetime network biopic about Aaliyah but she ultimately pulled out of the project, citing lack of production value as the reason. Zendaya’s casting was controversial enough, but she didn’t feel right especially since the network never reached out to Aaliyah’s family.
Cindy Crawford Might Be A Big Fan Of Slash
Supermodel CIndy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber dressed up as Slash and Axl Rose, respectively, in 2013. The edgy couple channeled Guns N Roses for their look to attend a Halloween bash at the home of actor Mike Meldman.
Crawford “Slash”-ed herself up by putting on a big, curly wig and a black top hat. She even went so far as to don some artificial tattoo sleeves. Of course, you can’t be a rockstar if you don’t wear your shades at night.
P. Diddy Dresses As A Certain Prince
In 2012, P. Diddy dressed up as Prince for Halloween. Diddy attempted to emulate the now-late legend in all his purple glory by sporting a purple velvet cape, white ruffle shirt, and even a wig of black curls. Diddy committed to the part by carrying around a white guitar all night.
Diddy’s look that year was seen at a Halloween party held at the Playboy Mansion. Days before the event, Diddy survived a car crash but appeared to be well enough for this event.
Kim Kardashian And Co. Dressed As Fashion Icons
For Halloween 2014, Kim Kardashian dressed up as Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. Makeup artist Joyce Bonelli, who is a close friend of the Kardashian family, dressed up as Vogue creative director Grace Coddington.
Even more adorable, Kardashian’s first-born North West was dressed up as Vogue editor at large, André Leon Talley, while Bonelli’s son Zeplin was dressed as Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld. This was an impeccable homage to high fashion icons if there ever was one.
Trisha Yearwood Dressed Up As Her Husband
Trisha Yearwood dressed as husband Garth Brooks for a Halloween episode of Trisha’s Kitchen in 2017. Yearwood channeled Brooks’s look from the cover of his 1992 album The Chase.
The country star held nothing back as she wore Brooks’s checkered white and black shirt, a cowboy hat, and some convincing facial hair. Brooks, of course, approved of his wife’s Halloween costume. After all, don’t they say that imitation is the best form of flattery?
