Fall in Love: Joshua Tree 2018 Spring Music Festival
I recently got the opportunity to attend Joshua Tree Music Festival (JTMF) for the very first time and it’s already one of my favorites! The Sweet 16 version of the festival, held at the gateway to the world-renowned National Park, broke records with a reported 3,500 people in attendance. Caravans of RVs and hundreds of people of every generation donned in flowing sundresses or colorful costumes to cultivate their eccentricities. The family festival by day, Burning Man by night event brought with it the camaraderie and community the festival is legendary for, in addition to the multitude of visual and interactive art installations, Kidsville, eclectic vendors, and world-class, globally-influenced music lineup. This event is truly a resource-generating powerhouse of passionate creativity, community empowerment, and arts education for all ages. A family inclusive global music experience in the magical Mojave.
The festival includes four primary performance stages – and the music is diverse and eclectic (from dance-world-electro-funk’n groove to soulful global-ethno melodies). There is also a Vibration Station complete with workshops, sound baths, and dance-offs, a Healing Oasis with skilled bodywork practitioners of a variety of modalities, and an array of performing artists. I had such a magical experience… where passion, purpose, family, and friends came together, and the boundary between performer and patron was blurred. I’m already looking forward to the next one!
If this past weekend is any indication of how this summer is going to be… I AM READY!! @joshuatreemusicfestival is officially one of my favs. Truly life changing. Words can’t describe the special, sanctuary that this festival created for our mind body and souls 💫✨⭐️ #joshuatree #musicfestival #jtmf2018 #transformational #mikelove
