Experience New Orleans: Bayou Boogaloo

I recently attended the infamous New Orleans’ music festival, Bayou Boogaloo… and might I add, had the most incredible time!  This festival is held annually along the banks of Bayou Saint John in New Orleans.  It started after Katrina as a way to help musicians and neighbors come together after the storm.  It has since exploded in popularity over the years, with hundreds of kayaks, canoes, inflatable rafts and man-made floats lining the bayou.  The three day festival takes place on four stages, so there’s never a shortage of music!

Bayou Boogaloo also features food, arts and handicrafts and other sensory delights. It goes on for three days giving festival goers the opportunity to truly soak up the experience (no pun intended). This was definitely three days I’ll never forget. If you ever find yourself in the South, this is a festival not to be missed!
