5 Ways to Refresh Your Wardrobe

While it may not seem like it just yet, we promise spring is basically right around the corner. In a matter of weeks, you’ll be able to hang up your boots and sweaters and thick winter leggings for another season. With the changes in weather, you’re probably staring at your closet wondering how you’ll revamp and refresh your look without going broke. Before you decide you hate every article of clothing in your closet, consider making the old, new again!

Here are five ways to refresh your wardrobe:

Make Alterations: We all have those pieces in our closet. You know, the ones you fell in love with at the mall or online, but for some reason they don’t fit right! When pants are too long, your blouse is too wide, or your dress needs a cinched waist, get it altered.

Layer it up: It’s easy to get stuck in an outfit rut, rocking the same pieces the same way each time. Instead, try layering different lightweight shirts, tanks, and jackets in innovative ways.

Personalize: Have you been rocking the same denim jacket for the last few years? It’s probably perfectly soft and worn in at this point so you hate taking it off. When your coat is hitting its stride, personalize it with patches or embroidery. Make it your signature piece instead of that mundane jacket you default to.

Bust out the scissors: Right now cropped pants with a raw hem are totally in. Bust out the scissors to revamp your denim! Turn those old jeans into shorts or your long pants into cute cropped ones! Don’t stop there…create cut outs in t-shirts or turn your long-sleeves into tank tops.

Bleach/Indigo Dye: Make your old t-shirts, shoes, and cotton shorts brand new again with cool new patterns. Bleach dye or indigo dye for a trendy new look.
